  • Patent number: 11764378
Abstract: A redox flow battery system includes a cell that performs charging and discharging between the cell and a power system, a tank that stores an electrolyte supplied to the cell, a circulation pump that circulates the electrolyte between the cell and the tank, a power converter disposed between the cell and the power system, and a charge/discharge control unit that controls an operation of the power converter to control charging and discharging of the cell. When the charge/discharge control unit detects power failure in the power system, the charge/discharge control unit controls the power converter such that power of the electrolyte remaining in the cell is supplied to the circulation pump.

  • Patent number: 7199550
Abstract: The invention provides a secondary battery system that allows a high overload operation regardless of discharging condition during a steady operation, and an operating method thereof. The secondary battery system comprises first tanks 31, 32 for reserving electrolytes required for a steady operation, and second tanks 33, 34 for reserving electrolytes required for an emergency operation. Valves 41–48 are opened and closed for allowing selective switching between the electrolytes in the first tanks 31, 32 and the electrolytes in the second tanks 33, 34 to circulate the selected electrolytes through a cell stack 100. The electrolytes reserved in the second tanks 33, 34 are electrolytes having a proportion of a quantity of active material produced in a charging reaction to a total quantity of active material of not less than 50%.

  • Patent number: 6030229
Abstract: An electromagnetic detachable connector includes a pair of female and male connectors. Each of female and male connectors includes a movable section and a fixed section. Each movable section includes a row of terminals that can be connected with those of another movable section, and a guide that can be fitted with that of the another movable section. The fixed sections are relatively fixed so as to have respective movable sections face each other. A permanent magnet and an electromagnet are arranged at a predetermined position of the female and male connectors. Exerting an electromagnetic force on the permanent magnet so that the movable sections move in a direction so as to come closer to or farther away from each other achieves a drive control for connection and disconnection. With this structure, an electromagnetic detachable connector is provided that can control, automatically and with high precision, the connection and disconnection between the female and male connectors.

  • Patent number: 5477494
Abstract: An apparatus for testing a semiconductor memory device even of such a complicated addressing scheme that column address allocation differs from one to another row address. Memory cells of the memory device can be accessed in a desired sequence by changing over the conditions for address translation on a real-time basis. A pattern generator generates a plurality of addresses. A plurality of address bit selector circuits select optionally the addresses outputted from the pattern generator on a bit-by-bit basis. A plurality of switching circuits are provided for changing over a plurality of selected addresses outputted from the address bit selector circuits on a real-time basis. A plurality of address translation/memory circuits are supplied with a plurality of the addresses changed over by the switching circuits. A memory incorporated in each of address translation/memory circuits is divided into a plurality of memory areas selectable on a real-time basis.

  • Patent number: 5473616
Abstract: An address pattern generator for generating regular addresses in a freely set aside area of the memory cell to be tested. The arrangement of the column address generator is structured the same as that of the row address generator wherein both the column address generator and the row address generator receive an add signal from a control circuit, address values from first and second maximum value registers and address values from first and second initial value registers. The column address generator has a comparator which compares an address to be supplied to the memory to be tested with the address value output from the first maximum value register and a selection circuit which selects address to be supplied to the memory using a signal output from the comparator.
