  • Patent number: 6239100
Abstract: The present invention provides a novel polypeptide which has fish growth hormone-like activity and which can be widely used no matter what the species of fish is.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 24, 1998
Date of Patent: May 29, 2001
    Assignee: HIH Biocenter INC
Inventors: Takayuki Ban, Yasunobu Takeshima, Hideaki Hagiwara
  • Patent number: 5821119
Abstract: A vector plasmid containing(a) the OriA region of plasmid pBA1 derived from Anacystis nidulans,(b) the multicloning region and(c) the region of colicin E1 plasmid, which contains the OriE region thereof and wherein the gene defined by the rop region thereof is removed. This plasmid is replicable in the cells of both Escherichia coli and cyanobacteria and thus useful as a shuttle vector.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 13, 1997
Date of Patent: October 13, 1998
    Assignee: Yoshihide Hagiwara
    Inventors: Hideaki Hagiwara, Yasunobu Takeshima
  • Patent number: 5804408
Abstract: A method for expressing a physiologically active polypeptide in cells of a blue-green alga by transforming the cells of a blue-green alga with a recombinant DNA containing a structural gene encoding the polypeptide, characterized in that as the recombinant DNA is used a recombinant DNA which contains a structural gene encoding the physiologically active polypeptide, the transcription initiation region of the RuBisCO gene of Anacystis nidulans located upstream of the structural gene, and the transcription termination region of the RuBisCO gene located downstream of the structural gene. According to this method, physiologically active polypeptide can efficiently be expressed using blue-green algae.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 3, 1995
Date of Patent: September 8, 1998
    Assignee: Yoshihide Hagiwara
    Inventors: Hideaki Hagiwara, Yasunobu Takeshima
