  • Patent number: 5830249
Abstract: A control system for a dust collecting apparatus including an upright housing arranged above a dust storage bin, a ceramic filter assembly disposed within the housing to collect dust particles from exhaust gases supplied into a bottoms portion of the housing located upstream thereof, and a reverse washing mechanism mounted on the housing downstream of the filter assembly to cause the collected dust particles to fall into the dust storage bin from the filter assembly when it is activated, wherein temperature (T1) and pressure (P1) of the exhaust gases supplied into the housing upstream of the filter assembly, temperature (T2) and pressure (P2) of purified gases discharged from the filter assembly into an upper portion of the housing located downstream of the filter assembly and a flow quantity (Q1) of the purified gases discharged from the housing downstream of the reverse washing mechanism are detected to calculate an average temperature T=f(T1, T2), a flow quantity ?(Q=f(Q1. T)!, viscosity (.eta.

  • Patent number: 5601626
Abstract: A support construction for a ceramic filter element adapted for use in a dust collecting apparatus, wherein the ceramic filter element is mounted within a tubular support housing which is formed at its inner periphery with an inward flange enclosing an outer periphery of the filter element. The filter element has one end portion formed at its outer periphery with an outward flange which is coupled with the internal wall surface of the support housing through an encircling sealing member and engaged at one side thereof with the inward flange of the support housing. A pressure plate in the form of a window frame is coupled within one end portion of the support housing and pressed to the outward flange of the filter element such that the outward flange of the filter element is clamped by the pressure plate and the inward flange of the support housing.

  • Patent number: 5593471
Abstract: A dust collecting apparatus, including a housing having an inlet duct, a discharge duct and filter provided therein. The filter has a honeycomb cellular structure including an inlet, outlet and a plurality of thin partition walls forming a plurality of axial passages. The filter has two groups of passages, a first group of passages that are closed along the inlet end of the filter and second group of passages that are closed along the outlet end of the filter. Further, a cover body is provided in the housing to form a chamber between the cover body and the outlet end of the filter. The chamber is in open communication with the first group of passages, and includes an outlet duct for passage of gas therethrough and to the discharge duct. Further, the housing provides an induction duct that opposes the outlet duct, for introduction of washing gas therethrough.

  • Patent number: 5228892
Abstract: An exhaust emission control device includes a single filter assembly composed of a pair of side plates respectively formed in an L-letter shape in cross-section and integrally assembled in a square framework having inlet and outlet openings, and a plurality of ceramic filter elements aligned in parallel within the square framework and clamped by the side plates. The filter elements are each made of porous ceramic material and have a thin-walled cellular structure square in cross-section formed with a plurality of axially extending passages separated from each other by thin partition walls, wherein a first group of the passages are closed at their one ends in a checked pattern and opened at their other ends to introduce therein exhaust gases to be purified, while a second group of the passages are opened at their one ends to discharge purified gases therefrom and closed at their other ends in a checked pattern.
