  • Patent number: 5951106
Abstract: A vehicle front seat of the kind capable of being selectively rotated into a forward position or rearward position has a turntable unit or rotation adjusting mechanism provided between the seat and a vehicle floor. The rotation adjusting mechanism includes a stationary circular guide and a rotating disk disposed inside the stationary guide. The rotating disk is provided with a latching arm having an engagement tooth. The stationary guide has a locking through hole for engagement with the engagement tooth of the latching arm. A cam is disposed inside the locking through hole and capable of contacting the engagement tooth inserted into the locking through hole. The cam is rotatable in response to movement of the engagement tooth. An amount of rotation of the cam is detected by a microswitch. The cam is provided with first and second circular arc cam surfaces and capable of absorbing possible errors in attached positions of the constituent parts of the rotation adjusting mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5007677
Abstract: A vehicular seat is formed with an adjustable spring structure at an internal portion thereof. The structure is selectively adjustable for determining the degree of support the seat occupant receives at his or her lower back and features an arrangement which is supported on the end of a pair of adjustable crank arms so as to be operable between a normal position in which the support to the lower back of the seat occupant is mildly enhanced, and an extra support position in which the seat back contour is altered and the support of the seat occupant's lower back is greatly enhanced in a manner which reduces fatigue of the seat occupant over long periods.

  • Patent number: 4805866
Abstract: Herein disclosed is a powered seat slide device which comprises a threaded shaft which is neatly received in an elongate tunnel-like space defined between coupled movable and stationary rails and rotatably held by the movable rail, a nut which is received in the tunnel-like space to be operatively engaged with the threaded shaft and connected to the stationary rail. One end of the threaded shaft is projected from the tunnel like-space to form an exposed end. A gear mechanism incorporated with the exposed end of the threaded shaft for transmitting a power of an electric motor to the threaded shaft is arranged outside of the coupled rail unit.

  • Patent number: 4606577
Abstract: An automotive folding seat is adapted to be retracted to provide a wider entrance space for passengers. The seat back can be folded onto a seat cushion and the seat in its entirety can be pivoted to a retracted position wherein the seat cushion is aligned vertically with the seat back folded onto the seat cushion. A locking mechanism serves to hold the seat cushion in its normal operating position. The locking mechanism is engageable to a striker rigidly mounted on the vehicle body and associated with a hinge mechanism which latches the seat back in its normal operating position and allows pivotal movement to the folded position in response to release operation of an operation lever. The operation lever also causes the locking mechanism to release its locking engagement with the striker to allow retracting movement of the seat cushion.
