    Abstract: AC battery cells having in each three electrode tabs (terminals) which are anode, biode, and cathode are able to become a high voltage system by the connection of the biode tabs with the biode tabs one another or with the cathode tabs one another by using switches. At the same time, all tabs of anode are always connected one another. These connections of AC batteries give a high voltage between the cathode tab and the biode tab in the stable voltage between the biode and anode. Finally, this system is a high voltage electrical accumulator.

    Abstract: An ink-jet printer and an apparatus and a method of driving a recording head for an ink-jet printer for suppressing satellite droplets. Two piezoelectric elements are provided for every ink chamber corresponding to each nozzle. Timing of displacement of the piezoelectric elements is adjusted by applying a drive signal for ink droplet ejection to one of the piezoelectric elements and a drive signal for suppressing satellite droplets when a droplet is ejected to the other piezoelectric element. An auxiliary pressure generated by the displacement of the latter piezoelectric element is superimposed on an ejection pressure generated by the displacement of the former piezoelectric element. Trailing of an ink droplet is cut off at an early stage and generation of satellite droplets is suppressed.

    Abstract: An ink-jet printer and an apparatus and a method of driving a recording head for an ink-jet printer are provided for faithfully performing various image representations through ink droplet ejection driving signals of different waveforms. Based on a waveform selection signal from a selection controller, a waveform selector selects one of a plurality of drive signals from a drive waveform generator in a time-division manner. The selected signal is supplied to a piezoelectric element of a corresponding nozzle. Control is thereby performed on ink droplet ejection with a drive signal having a temporally varying waveform. The drive signals include a signal having a varying voltage waveform that disables ink droplet ejection in isolation from another waveform. A new composite drive signal waveform is generated by time-divisional selection not only at a point between ejection cycles but also at a point during the ejection cycle.

    Abstract: A lithium ion secondary battery according to the present invention includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator, and a heat-resistant and heat-insulating film having pores. The heat-resistant and heat-insulating film is formed on at least one of surfaces opposed to each other of the positive and negative electrodes. The positive electrode and the negative electrodes are laminated through the separator. The heat-resistant and heat-insulating film contains metal oxide, metal carbonate or metal nitride. The heat-resistant and heat-insulating film is formed by spraying powders of metal oxide, metal carbonate or metal nitride. The spraying is plasma spraying. A surface where the positive electrode and the negative electrode are not opposed to each other is provided. On at least one of surfaces forming the interface, the heat-resistant and heat-insulating film is formed by spraying powders of metal oxide, metal nitride or the like.

    Abstract: A pen printer for converting data into printed form on a print sheet placed on a platen. The pen printer comprises a plurality of ink pens and a pen carriage mounted for reciprocating movement above the platen. The pen carriage has a device for removably attaching each of the ink pens juxtaposed in the direction of movement of the carriage. Pen actuators are mounted on the pen carriage apart from the ink pens with each pen actuator being responsive to an electrical signal for bringing a corresponding one of the ink pens toward the platen into contact with the print sheet. The pen printer also comprises a carriage actuator responsive to an electrical signal for moving the pen carriage and a sheet feed mechanism responsive to arrival of the pen carriage to at least one of first and second predetermined positions separated from each other for feeding the print sheet a predetermined length on the platen.
