  • Publication number: 20090181960
Abstract: To provide a novel and excellent method for treating and/or preventing prostatic cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia, acne, seborrhea, hirsutism, baldness, alopecia, precocious puberty, adrenal hypertrophy, polycystic ovary syndrome, breast cancer, lung cancer, endometriosis, leiomyoma and the like based on selective inhibitory activity against 17?HSD type 5. It was found that an N-sulfonylindole derivative, where the indole ring is substituted by a carboxy group, a carboxy-substituted lower alkyl group or a carboxy-substituted lower alkenyl group at its carbon atom, has potent selective inhibitory activity against 17?HSD type 5 and may become a therapeutic agent and/or preventive agent for benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostatic cancer and the like without accompanying adverse drug reactions due to a decrease in testosterone, and the present invention has thus been completed.

  • Publication number: 20090030568
Abstract: A power frequency distribution predicting unit predicts the power frequency distribution of a vehicle in a case where the vehicle travels a route with reference to the history of the vehicle power Pv when the vehicle traveled the route in the past. An operation condition setting unit sets the range of the required vehicle power Pv0 to operate the engine as an engine operation condition for controlling the energy balance between generated power and generated electric power of an electric rotating machine in a case where the vehicle travels the route to be at a preset value according to the power frequency distribution predicted by the power frequency distribution predicting unit. An operation control unit controls the operation of the engine according to the range of the required vehicle power Pv0 to operate the engine set by the operation condition setting unit.

  • Publication number: 20080056632
Abstract: In a compressor bearing for supporting a rotor shaft of a compressor, a first oil groove is formed in a bearing surface on the side opposite to a bearing load acting direction, a second oil groove is formed in a position adjacent to the first oil groove in an anti-rotational direction, a first oil channel and a second oil channel communicating with the first oil groove and the second oil groove, respectively, to supply oil to the first and second oil grooves from an exterior, common oil supply source are provided, a circumferential length of the second oil groove is set larger than that of the first oil groove, and a minimum value of a sectional area perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the second oil channel is set smaller than that of a sectional area perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the first oil channel. The compressor bearing of such a configuration is small in load induced by oil pressure and exhibits an outstanding rotor shaft cooling effect.

  • Publication number: 20070262532
Abstract: A mechanical seal that prevents deposition of a degradation material generated on a sliding interface is to be provided. In a mechanical seal including a sleeve that rotates with a rotating shaft, a seal cover fixed to a housing, a rotating ring attached to the sleeve and a fixed ring attached to the seal cover and disposed in sliding-contact with the rotating ring via a sliding interface perpendicular to the rotating shaft, a scraping member is provided on the sleeve at a position close to an inner edge of the sliding interface so as to remove a degradation material from the inner edge of the sliding interface. Alternatively a discharging structure is formed on the sleeve so as to discharge the fluid stuck to the sleeve 4 to outside of the seal cover by the rotation of the sleeve. Otherwise, a solvent or an inert gas may be filled in a space defined by the sleeve 4, the rotating ring 6, the fixed ring 7 and the seal cover 5.

  • Patent number: 7144235
Abstract: A bearing comprising a resin layer, a backing strip and an intermediate layer which bonds the resin layer and the backing strip to each other is disclosed. The bearing undergoes a force from the resin layer side. A corrosion preventing layer is formed on each side face of the bearing so as to cover the intermediate layer. The corrosion preventing layer prevents the intermediate layer from being corroded by gas contained in an atmosphere and lubricating oil which are present around the bearing.

  • Patent number: 7140779
Abstract: In a bearing constituted by a plural-layer slide member, the plural-layer slide member comprises a resin layer of polytetrafluoroethylene as a slide member and a backing strip to which the resin layer is bonded. A fitting hole having a depth exceeding the thickness of the resin layer is formed from the resin layer side. A temperature measuring metallic member formed of a white metal is fitted in the fitting hole. A temperature sensor is positioned within the temperature measuring metallic member. This bearing permits an accurate detection of its temperature. Further, in an oil cooled screw compressor having a bearing lubricating oil supply pipe, a slide surface of the bearing is covered with polyether ether ketone. Even if foaming occurs in the oil, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of a mechanical trouble such as galling.

  • Patent number: 6704636
Abstract: A tire parameter estimation device that is economical and can accurately estimate tire parameters while taking into consideration both states of a vehicle and states of a road environment. A &mgr; gradient detecting circuit detects a &mgr; gradient on the basis of a wheel speed detected by a wheel speed detecting circuit. A gradient value comparing circuit determines a &mgr; gradient section value &mgr;r, which is a mean value of the &mgr; gradients from the &mgr; gradient detecting circuit, and calculates a rate (=&mgr;r/&mgr;I) of the &mgr; gradient mean value &mgr;r with respect to a &mgr; gradient initial value &mgr;. A tire temperature estimating circuit stores a table representing the relation between the rate and a tire temperature, and estimates a tire temperature corresponding to the rate calculated by the gradient value comparing circuit as the present tire temperature.

  • Patent number: 6522968
Abstract: A device for estimating a road friction state in which a friction state of a wheel with respect to a road surface can be estimated accurately. A bandpass filter extracts, from a wheel speed signal detected by a wheel speed detecting unit, a portion of the wheel speed signal in a predetermined range which includes a torsion resonance point at which a frequency is greater than a low frequency regions. A vibration level computing unit computes a vibration level of the wheel speed signal. A road friction state estimating unit estimates the friction state of the wheel with respect to the road surface on the basis of a vibration level computed by the vibration level computing unit and an estimated value of a road &mgr; slope computed by a &mgr; slope computing unit, and on the basis of a relationship between the two determined for each road surface state.

  • Patent number: 6374172
Abstract: A vehicle driving condition detection device is adapted to detect a vehicle running along a banked or laterally sloping road, as well as a lateral acceleration, and sideslip angle with good accuracy. The sideslip angle is estimated at a vehicle-body sideslip angle estimating circuit based on a steering angle &dgr;f, a lateral acceleration ÿ, a yaw rate {dot over (&thgr;)}, and a vehicle speed V. In addition, using a differentiating device, the estimated sideslip angle is differentiated to calculate a slip angular velocity. A subtracting device is provided at which a deviation is calculated between the slip angular velocity and a slip angular velocity detected at a slip angular velocity calculating circuit. The deviation can detect a banked or laterally sloping road due to the fact that the detected slip angular velocity at the slip angular velocity calculating circuit includes the gravity acceleration component that depends on the slope or bank of the road.

  • Patent number: 5921349
Abstract: An oil air distributor is inserted in the inside of a support hole provided in a housing. The oil air distributor is designed so that outer pipes and a spacer fitted onto an inner pipe are held, through seal rings, between a flange portion provided in the inner pipe and a supply plug. In a condition in which the seal rings are compressed axially, the second oil-supply hole provided in the supply plug is communicated with branch passages provided in the housing. Further, a plurality of inner-pipe-side small holes provided in the inner pipe are opened substantially horizontally in vertically even-level positions.
