  • Patent number: 5739764
Abstract: A selective calling receiver having an alarting time auto-control function according to the present invention includes a first storing circuit for storing an identification number. A decoder for detecting a coincidence of a call signal contained in the received signal and the identification number, and for outputting a coincidence signal, and for decoding a message signal contained in the received signal, and for outputting a message. An alarting section for inputting the coincidence signal and alarting. A display section for displaying the message. A second storing circuit for storing an none-read message and a read out message. A reset switch for being operated by a user when he notices the alerting, and for outputting a reset signal. A calculating circuit for calculating an alerting time based on the number of the non-read messages. A counting circuit for counting the alerting time, and for outputting a count up signal when the alerting time is counted up.

  • Patent number: 5715517
Abstract: A radio selective calling receiver with a display function receives a call thereto upon reception of a numerical signal including a message, reads out a fixed or arbitrary standardized expression of standardized expressions stored in advance which is designated by the numerical signal, and displays the readout standardized expression. The receiver includes a registration section and a read selection section. The registration section registers the readout arbitrary standardized expression, as a protective message, in an EEPROM upon adding management information to the standardized expression. The read selection section selects whether to read out and display a protective message having management information added thereto of contents registered by the registration section, or read out and display information other than the management information.

  • Patent number: 5508688
Abstract: Even when a user is unaware of a reception informing operation, reception informing functions are automatically stopped to prevent unnecessary current consumption. A receiver includes a mode switch for performing switching between a function for manually stopping the operations of various reception informing functions such as an audible tone, display, vibration, and light emission and a function for automatically stopping them, an auto reset setting switch for performing selection for automatically stopping any of the reception informing functions when the manual stop function is selected, and a timer for automatically stopping the reception informing function selected by the auto reset setting switch when a predetermined duration has elapsed. Even in a manual reset state, the set reception informing function is automatically stopped when a predetermined duration measured by the timer has elapsed.

  • Patent number: 5347368
Abstract: A frame memory of an image recording apparatus includes a first frame memory for storing image data having a large number of pixels per unit area and a small number of gradations per pixel and a second frame memory for storing image data having a small number of pixels per unit area and a large number of gradations per pixel. Image data representing a character, a graphic figure or similar items requiring a high resolution is stored in the first frame memory, while image data inputted through a scanner or similar device and having a large number of gradations is stored in the second frame memory. In recording an image, the image data stored in the first frame memory is converted to image data having a large number of gradations, and the image data stored in the second frame memory is converted to image data having a high resolution, and recording is effected on the basis of these image data. As a result, images are recorded with high image quality by using a small-capacity frame memory.
