  • Patent number: 6080471
Abstract: The present invention provides a non-woven fabric for an alkali cell separator capable of preventing active materials from transfer, and having distinguished electrolyte solution absorbability and retainability in spite of a small areal weight and also provides a process for producing the same. The non-woven fabric is substantially free from perforations and has a center surface average roughness SRa of not more than 13 .mu.m at streaks of entanglement on at least one side of the non-woven fabric, a maximum pore diameter of not more than 50 .mu.m and a water absorbability under pressure of not less than 20 g/m.sup.2, and a standard deviation of pore diameter distribution of not more than 20 .mu.m, as determined by bubble point method.

  • Patent number: 5670247
Abstract: Disclosed is a photoreactive noxious substance purging agent comprising a photoreactive semiconductor, a carrier, and a microfibrillated microfiber. In this photoreactive noxious substance purging agent, loss of the photoreaction effective surface of the photoreactive semiconductor can be held down to the minimum and a sufficient noxious substance removing characteristics can be exhibited.

  • Patent number: 5254399
Abstract: A nonwoven fabric having excellent sheet formation comprises fibers of which diameter is 7 .mu.m or less and of which ratio of fiber length to fiber diameter (L/D) is in the range of 2000<L/D.ltoreq.6000, and optionally thermalbonding fibers, and the fibers being three-dimensionally entangled. A nonwoven fabric having excellent sheet formation comprises 10-90% by weight based on the weight of the nonwoven fabric of fibers of which diameter is 7 .mu.m or less and of which L/D is 2000 or less, 90-10% by weight based on the weight of the nonwoven fabric of fibers of which diameter is 7 .mu.m or less and of which ratio of fiber length to fiber diameter (L/D) is in the range of 2000<L/D.ltoreq.6000, and optionally thermalbonding fibers, the maximum pore size of the nonwoven fabric being 5 times the mean pore size or less, and the fibers being three-dimensionally entangled.
