  • Patent number: 5143125
Abstract: A transfer tail forming apparatus for weft feeders fed to a weaving machine, wherein a tail end of a feeder now in use and a leading end of a preliminary feeder are connected together using a knotter. The tail end and the leading end are automatically positioned and held in a predetermined position by a positioning apparatus, and the yarn ends are connected together by the knotter to form a transfer tail. Further, by the provision of a stand-by apparatus the transfer tail is held in a predetermined posture, and when the whole quantity of the weft on the feeder now in use has been consumed, the leading end of the preliminary feeder can be introduced into the weaving machine in a continuous manner. Moreover, when the supply of weft from the feeder now in use is discontinued, the introduction of the leading end from the preliminary feeder is made possible by the stand-by apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5000231
Abstract: A yarn package changing method and an apparatus for carrying out the same, for use in combination with a loom which receives the weft yarn from a yarn package. The yarn package changing method carries out automatic yarn package changing operation through steps of removing an empty bobbin set in a yarn package changing position on a yarn package stand, by a yarn package transporting device, supplying a new yarn package to the yarn package stand by the yarn package transporting device, holding the leading end of the new yarn package at a predetermined position by a leading end positioning device; and setting the new yarn package in a feeding position on the yarn package stand.

  • Patent number: 4730643
Abstract: A mispick removing device capable of extracting the broken pieces of a mispick through the opposite selvages of the fabric, respectively, in case of the breakage of a picked weft yarn within the shed, and capable of extracting a mispick through the selvage of the fabric on the picking side of the loom in case of faulty picking operation other than the breakage of the picked weft yarn. The mispick removing device comprises a picking-side mispick removing mechanism disposed on the picking side of the loom, and a receiving-side mispick removing mechanism disposed opposite to the picking-side mispick removing mechanism with respect to the fabric. The mispick removing device is controlled automatically for mispick removing operation.

  • Patent number: 4688606
Abstract: An improperly inserted weft removing device for a shuttleless loom which weaves a fabric by picking a weft measured and stored on a measuring and storing device into a shed of warps by the agency of a jet of a fluid jetted through a picking nozzle, said weft removing device including a winding unit for extracting an improperly inserted weft from the cloth fell of the cloth being woven on the shuttleless loom upon the occurence of a mispick; a guide nozzle for deflecting the weft from the picking path and guiding the same to a predetermined position in the winding unit, which is disposed between the picking nozzle and the edge of the cloth on the picking side; a cutter for cutting the weft extending between the picking nozzle and the winding unit; and a controller for controlling the winding unit, the guide nozzle and the cutter for a series of sequential weft removing actions.

  • Patent number: 4646791
Abstract: Multiple-color air jet looms successively insert different kinds of weft threads into warp sheds to weave a fabric of desired construction. The different weft threads are subjected to different resistances to their being drawn through a main nozzle and are carried on air jets under different conditions, so that the weft threads will be inserted unstably at different speeds. With the arrangement of the invention, selected weft threads for insertion are carried, one at a time, through the warp shed under respective different weft carrying forces suited for the weft threads. The different weft carrying forces may be produced by varying pressures at which air is ejected, intervals of time during which air is ejected under pressure, or the manner in which subnozzles are positioned along the warp shed. There is provided a control means for changing the air pressures and ejection time intervals in synchronism with operation of the air jet loom.
