  • Patent number: 5245602
Abstract: A front loading disc player for automatically delivering a disc onto a turntable and playing back the disc includes a disc delivery mechanism for delivering the disc. The disc delivery mechanisms has two trays for carrying respective discs, juxtaposed in a direction substantially normal to the disc carrying surface of the turntable and movable into a projected position out of the player housing and a retracted position in the player housing, and a guide and driver means for guiding and moving the trays into the playback position, the retracted position, and the projected position. While one of the trays is in the playback position, the other tray is positioned in either the stored position or the projected position. While the disc delivered by one of the trays onto the turntable is being played back, therefore, the disc on the other tray can be replaced with a new disc, so that a number of discs can successively be played back.

  • Patent number: 5103438
Abstract: An optical pickup device for applying controlled light to a track of an optical disc. Light orientation is controlled by changing the angular orientation of an objective lens mounted on a holder. The holder is disposed above an actuator base and is supported in a cantilevered manner by a suspension member fixed to the actuator base. The actuator base is mounted on a pickup body movable in a tracking direction of the disc. The holder is integrally coupled with a central portion of a yoke member, so that the yoke is also movable. The yoke member has inverted U-shaped portions provided symmetrically with respect to the central portion. Further, a pair of magnets are provided each being fixed to the outer surface of the central portion, i.e., a first inner surface of the inverted U-shaped portion, and a pair of coil members are fixed to the base. Each of the coil members is positioned within each of mangetic gaps defined by each free end of the inverted U-shaped portion and each of the magnets.

  • Patent number: 4947481
Abstract: A carriage movable on a pair of parallel guide members radially towards and away from a disk carrying surface of a turntable of a disk player, is constituted by first and second carrying members rotatably mounted to each other with the rotation axis of the second carrying member positioned perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the guiding members and parallel to a guide plane containing the pair of guiding members so as to pass through a point where the second carrying member is in contact with the other guiding member. The carriage is provided with a differential screw screwed to the first and second carrying members to adjust the relative angular positioning between them. The carriage supporting an optical pickup is driven by a half nut provided on the carriage and a worm screwed to the half nut with the half nut movable within a plane containing the respective axes of the guiding members and the worm, relative to the carriage.

  • Patent number: 4839764
Abstract: A disk player comprising a turntable and a clamp mechanism for clamping a disk put on the turntable, the clamp mechanism pushing the disk in cooperation with the turntable and moving its parts toward and away from the turntable, the moving mechanism comprising a pair of support members, the pair of support member being swingable in planes nearly perpendicular to the disk bearing side of the turntable and free ends of the pair of support members being capable of contacting with the disk pushing side and the opposite side of the pushing mechanism, respectively, to pinch the pushing mechanism therebetween, and a driver for driving the pair of support members.
