  • Patent number: 5586106
Abstract: A detaining device for use in a disc drive for loading/unloading and detaining a disc, especially an optical CD-ROM disc, in the read/write position; it comprises: (a) a turn table for supporting the disc; (b) a slidable detainer having a recessed portion; and (c) a guiding plate having a guiding slot near the middle thereof, the slot being dimensioned for allowing the detainer to move back-and-forth in the direction of the loading/unloading of the disc. The turn table is slidably movable between the opened position and the read/write position during the loading/unloading of the disc, and has a conically-surfaced center jut which is projected from the center of the jut for receiving the disc via a central hole provided in the disc. The recessed portion is provided with a recessed surface matching the conically-surfaced center jut of the turn table so as to cooperatively and firmly detain the disc when the disc is in the read/write position.

  • Patent number: 5568340
Abstract: A front loading cassette tape latching, loading and unloading device comprises a base seat, a cassette sliding plate, cassette clamping arms, cassette damping rollers, a cassette spring plate, cassette guide seats, a button sliding plate and a button sliding plate agraffe. When the cassette tape is being pushed into the machine, it will move the cassette sliding plate and trigger the button sliding plate agraffe to force the button sliding plate out, and further allow the cassette clamping arms to rotate. Rotation of the clamping arms forces the cassette clamping rollers to clamp the cassette and to latch the cassette tape on the guide seat. When removing the cassette, the button sliding plate is pushed to open the clamping rollers, and the cassette will spring out of the machine by the force of the cassette sliding plate. This compact cassette loading and unloading arrangement is easy to assemble and cost effective to produce.

  • Patent number: 5218479
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an improved zoom lens fixing mechanism comprising a fixing sleeve, a cam sleeve, a front lens holder, a rear lens holder, a back cover, and four rollers, in which the fixing sleeve has a cam slot and three long slots and the cam sleeve has a long slot and three cam slots. The front lens holder has three screw holes and the rear lens holder has one screw hole. During the assembling, or fixing, of the improved zoom lens of the present invention, the rollers are first affixed into respective screw holes. The rollers affixed to the front lens holder are placed into the long slots on the fixing sleeve and the cam slots on the cam sleeve, which also sleeves around the fixing sleeve. Whereas, the roller affixed to the rear lens holder is placed into the cam slot on the fixing sleeve and the long slot on the cam sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5177523
Abstract: An improved mechanism for cameras includes a solenoid which drives a cam ring to rotate to a control position for focusing or exposing; a motor drives a planetary gear set which includes a swing arm with a pinion fixed thereon. When the cam ring is in the control position for focusing, the pinion transmits the power generated by the motor to the teeth of the focusing ring to cause the focusing ring to rotate and focus. When the cam ring is in the control position of exposing, the pinion disengages from the teeth of the focusing ring to engage with the internal gear of the planetary gear set to cause the swing arm to oscillate and thereby actuate the shutter mechanism. At this time, the cam ring also initiates the movement of a ratchet set so that the focusing ring cannot move freely during the exposure process.
