  • Patent number: 10902202
Abstract: A method and system that automatically or semi-automatically analyze documents and redact key elements of importance to potential purchasers of the documents. Potential purchasers, or others, are presented with versions of the document that more fully reflect the particular information contained in the document but which do not disclose critical key data points that are of most importance to the purchaser. Upon reviewing a redacted version of the subject document, the viewer may elect to purchase or otherwise obtain the original document or report with information un-redacted. Alternatively, viewers are able to selectively purchase, or otherwise obtain, portions of the document in an a la carte fashion. The invention provides a Graphical User Interface (GUI) to effect the selective election of information, such as recommendations, ratings, market share, graphical representations, tables, etc.

  • Patent number: 8321398
Abstract: The present invention provides a corpus-independent method for determining relevancy of terms to content of text appearing in a document by analyzing the document itself. Conventional information extraction, or other methods, may be applied to a document to generate a list of terms. The invention analyzes the document using relevancy scoring algorithms to determine a term relevancy score representing the term's relevance to the text contained in the document. The scores, including an aggregate score, may be normalized in the process. Based on relevancy scoring, terms are then ranked and further processed. In this manner relevancy is determined based on the subject document itself and by analyzing the occurrences and locations of the terms within the document. Additional techniques may be applied to relate the relevancy scores generated by the present invention to a corpus or collection of documents.

  • Publication number: 20110119576
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system that automatically or semi-automatically analyzes documents and redacts key elements of importance to potential purchasers of the document. The present invention serves the dual purpose of presenting potential purchasers, or others, with versions of the document that more fully reflect the particular information contained in the document while not disclosing the critical key data points that are of most importance to the purchaser. Upon reviewing a redacted version of the subject document, the viewer may elect to purchase or otherwise obtain the original document or report with information un-redacted. • Patent number: 6532469
Abstract: A method for visualizing variations in a corpus of information. The corpus includes a plurality of information entries, which are divided into a plurality of sub-groups according to a differentiating parameter of the entries. For each of the entries, characteristics of information contained therein are extracted and pairs of different characteristics that appear together in at least one of the entries are found. An occurrence value is determined for each of the pairs of characteristics in each sub-group in which both of the characteristics appear. The occurrence values of at least some of the pairs of characteristics for at least two of the sub-groups are compared, and an indication of the comparative occurrence values of the pairs is provided.
