A distance from the user to the electronic device is acquired. A distance range of the acquired distance is obtained by searching the mapping table, and a value is calculated based on the image of the user. When the user is determined to be a specific type based on the calculated value and the predetermined value corresponding to the determined distance range, a first function is executed, and a second function is executed when the user is determined not to be the specific type.

When the user is determined not to be an adult based on analyses of the facial image and the acquired distance, the electronic device is turned off after a first determined duration.
