The security check system further includes a computer memory configured to store face ID data of an authorized person. The face ID data is generated from one or more modulated images of a live face of the authorized person acquired by the camera during a registration process. The security check system further includes a processing module configured to analyze the modulated image of the object to extract facial signatures, compare the facial signatures to the face ID data, and determine whether the object is the live face of the authorized person based on the comparison.

In those implementations, the distance sensing in accordance with the present disclosure can be used to aid various driving scenario, such as different levels of autonomous self-driving by the vehicle. In some implementations, the distance sensing can be employed in robotic equipment such as unmanned underwater devices to aid distance sensing of certain underwater objects of interest. In some implementations, the distance sensing can be employed in monitoring or surveillance for detecting or measuring object distance relative to a reference point.

A database includes profile DMAS measurements, profile location definitions for deterministic micro-structure (DMIS) feature regions, and profile DMIS signatures computed for the DMIS feature regions. A first-level authentication determination can be based on comparing the authentication DMAS measurements with the profile DMAS measurements. Authentication DMIS signatures can be computed from sub-images obtained for the DMIS feature regions at the profile location definitions. A second-level authentication determination can be based on comparing the authentication DMIS signatures with the profile DMIS signatures.
