  • Patent number: 8543400
Abstract: Voice processing methods and systems are provided. An utterance is received. The utterance is compared with teaching materials according to at least one matching algorithm to obtain a plurality of matching values corresponding to a plurality of voice units of the utterance. Respective voice units are scored in at least one first scoring item according to the matching values and a personified voice scoring algorithm. The personified voice scoring algorithm is generated according to training utterances corresponding to at least one training sentence in a phonetic-balanced sentence set of a plurality of learners and at least one real teacher, and scores corresponding to the respective voice units of the training utterances of the learners in the first scoring item provided by the real teacher.

  • Patent number: 7640434
Abstract: A system identifies undesirable content in responses sent to a user, such as in e-mail or in downloadable files, from an Internet or intranet site. The system utilizes a redirection program that identifies content requests from a user to a target server. The redirection program redirects the request to a proxy server that sends the request to the target server. Upon receipt of the response from the target server, the proxy server scans the response, which includes any attachments, for undesirable content, such as junk e-mails, computer viruses, pornographic material, and/or other undesirable content. The proxy server then acts upon the response, and any undesirable content, in accordance with default or user-defined parameters, such as removal of the undesirable content. The proxy server may then send the response, as modified, or a notification message to the redirection program forwarding to the user.

  • Publication number: 20030225580
Abstract: A user interface, a system and a method are provided to automatically compare the speech signal of a language learner against that of a language teacher. The system labels the input speech signals with phonic symbols and identifies the portions where the difference is significant. The system then gives grades and suggestions to the learners for improvement. The comparison and suggestions include articulation correctness, timing, pitch, intensity, etc. The method comprises three major stages. In the first stage, a phoneme-feature database is established. The phoneme-feature database contains the statistic data of phonemes. In the second stage, the speech signals of a language learner and a language teacher are labeled with phonic symbols that represent phonemes. In the third stage, the corresponding sections in the student and teachers' speech signals are identified and compared. Grades and suggestions for improvement are given on articulation correctness, timing, pitch, intensity, etc.
