  • Patent number: 6258887
Abstract: A multi-stage aqueous emulsion-polymer suitable for use in dirt pickup resistant coatings and coatings containing the polymer are provided. The multi-stage aqueous emulsion polymer includes (i) a first polymer including at least one nonionic copolymerized monoethylenically unsaturated monomer, from 0.5% to 7% of a copolymerized monoethylenically unsaturated ionic monomer, based on the weight of the first polymer, and from 0% to 1.0%, based on the weight of the first polymer, of a copolymerized multi-ethylenically unsaturated monomer, the first polymer having a Tg of 15° C. to 105° C.; and (ii) a second polymer comprising at least one nonionic copolymerized monoethylenically unsaturated monomer, from 0% to 2% of a copolymerized monoethylenically unsaturated ionic monomer, and from 0.25% to 6%, based on the weight of the second polymer, copolymerized multi-ethylenically unsaturated monomer, the second polymer having a Tg of −55° C. to 30° C.

  • Patent number: 5972363
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for delivering a bioactive compound to the site where it will exhibit its biological affect and controlling the delivery of the bioactive compound through the physical-chemical properties of a particle containing the bioactive compound. The method is particularly useful for delivering agricultural chemicals and pharmaceutical compounds.

  • Patent number: 5550100
Abstract: New and improved compositions comprising particulates and an effective amount of manganese chloride to reduce significantly the wetting time and/or the dispersion time of said particulates relative to said time(s) in the absence of said salt(s) have been discovered. Methods for reducing the wetting time of particulates in liquid have also been discovered.

  • Patent number: 5389674
Abstract: Novel and improved fungicidal dithiocarbamate particulate compositions comprising one or more components selected from dithiocarbamates and bisdithiocarbamoyl disulfides and an effective amount of moisture content to significantly enhance the flowability of the particulate composition, reduce the dustiness of the composition, increase the bulk density of the composition and/or reduce the ethylenethiourea content of the composition. Methods for producing such particulate compositions are presented wherein controlled slurry production and spray-drying are effective in producing such compositions.
