  • Publication number: 20170351905
Abstract: One embodiment provides a method comprising receiving a first input image and a second input image. Each input image comprises a facial image of an individual. For each input image, a first set of facial regions of the facial image is distinguished from a second set of facial regions of the facial image based on a learning based model. The first set of facial regions comprises age-invariant facial features, and the second set of facial regions comprises age-sensitive facial features. The method further comprises determining whether the first input image and the second input images comprise facial images of the same individual by performing face verification based on the first set of facial regions of each input image.

  • Publication number: 20170216877
Abstract: A sandwich structure for enhancement of photoluminescence (PL) from luminescent films and the corresponding preparation method are disclosed. The sandwich structure comprises a support, a luminescent film grown on the support, and a single-layer close-packed microsphere array deposited onto the luminescent film. The microspheres have high transmittance excitation light and emitted light, respectively. The low price of dielectric microspheres is beneficial to industrial applications. The stable chemical properties of dielectric microspheres make PL enhanced in a long term. Both metal and non-metal materials can be used as the support in the sandwich structure. These features significantly improve the technique of PL enhancement for luminescent films.

  • Publication number: 20150110381
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein provide methods and systems for delineating cell nuclei and classifying regions of histopathology or microanatomy while remaining invariant to batch effects. These systems and methods can include providing a plurality of reference images of histology sections. A first set of basis functions can then be determined from the reference images. Then, the histopathology or microanatomy of the histology sections can be classified by reference to the first set of basis functions, or reference to human engineered features. A second set of basis functions can then be calculated for delineating cell nuclei from the reference images and delineating the nuclear regions of the histology sections based on the second set of basis functions.

  • Patent number: 8419211
Abstract: A lamp tube includes a lamp shade, connectors fixed to opposite ends of the lamp shade, and a circuit board received in the lamp shade and electrically connected with the connectors. At least two resilient members protrude from opposite sides of the circuit board. Each resilient member is resiliently deformed and urged into contact with an inner surface of the lamp shade. The deformation of the at least two resilient members is for providing a spring push force to the circuit board, thus causing the circuit board to tightly engage the inner surface of the lamp shade, thereby retaining the circuit board in position inside the lamp shade.
