  • Patent number: 11933678
Abstract: A method for determining ambient temperature of a device in a building control system. The method includes obtaining a measurement of ambient temperature from a first temperature sensor of the device and obtaining a measurement of temperature of a processing circuit of the device. These temperature measurements along with a brightness level of a display of the device and a state of a relay of the device are provided as input to a neural network. The neural network is trained to recognize these inputs in order to more accurately determine the ambient temperature of the device. The reading from the first temperature sensor may otherwise be inaccurate due to heat generated by electronic components of the device.

  • Publication number: 20230129704
Abstract: Provided is a method for building an urban canopy model based on tropical island climate characteristics. Adjacent regions are linked together, multiple streets of finite lengths within the regions affecting each other. Net radiation heat flux Q*=long-wave radiation+short-wave radiation. The tropical island urban canopy model considers the strong solar radiation and high temperature and high humidity climate characteristics of tropical cities and the influence of perennial monsoons on island cities, improves the methods of processing long-wave radiation flux, short-wave radiation flux, sensible and latent heat flux, street canyon wind velocity, heat storage flux, anthropogenic heat flux and horizontal heat flux on the basis of an urban canopy model, and has higher adaptability to the studies on the tropical island-type urban heat island effect.

  • Publication number: 20100003928
Abstract: A method and system for providing header compression guidance to mobile devices initiating certain applications and/or protocols. A selective header compression (SHC) utility utilizes a session initiation protocol (SIP) message to provide robust header compression (ROHC) guidance to a mobile device initiating a call involving selected (SIP related) applications, protocols and/or service options. In addition, ROHC guidance allows the mobile device to appropriately select the source and/or destination port (depending on packet origination) for data flows requiring ROHC. ROHC guidance may recommend that the mobile device request ROHC for VoIP flows, but not for video flows. Furthermore, the guidance may specify the range of real-time protocol (RTP) ports at which ROHC is applied. For example, within a specified range of RTP ports, ROHC may be applied to data transmissions via even port numbers but prevented for real-time transport control protocol (RTCP) flows via odd port numbers.

  • Publication number: 20080291869
Abstract: In mobile IP wireless data networking, methods are described for correctly routing packets through a foreign agent to or from wireless nodes where the wireless nodes have the same home network IP address. Instead of using normal IP routing, the foreign agent uniquely identifies the wireless node's home network IP address and home agent IP address with a PPP link address associated with a PPP link between the foreign agent and the wireless node. This association between PPP link addresses, home agent IP addresses, and home network IP addresses, is preferably implemented in software as a table stored in the foreign agent. The routing of packets through the foreign agent to the mobile nodes is performed by reference to the table. The table allows the foreign agent to correctly and efficiently route packets in the situation where multiple wireless nodes are registered with the foreign agent, but more than one of the wireless nodes have the same home network IP address.

  • Patent number: 7426213
Abstract: A mobile Internet Protocol service provider system implements home agent functionality in two separate devices. One device, the home registration agent, is devoted to registration of the mobile node and session control. The other device, the home tunneling agent, is devoted to tunneling and routing functions for the foreign agent. The home registration agent can be a general purpose computer. The home tunneling agent is preferably implemented in a robust routing device, such as an IP switch or router. Multiple home tunneling agents or home registration agents can be implemented in the respective devices as multiple instantiations of a home registration agent or home tunneling agent software program. Foreign agent functionality for mobile IP networking can also be split into separate devices.

  • Patent number: 7403475
Abstract: An apparatus and method for routing data packet connection pathways. A pathway controller monitors all of the packet data service nodes available for the transmission of data packets to mobile nodes in order to allocate the service nodes appropriately. A main call processing node selects an available packet data service node for use for a mobile node based upon the availability of the service nodes. A mobile node may have its data packet pathway deactivated if the network infrastructure determines the need to free-up resources for other mobile nodes. The data packet pathway may be reactivated upon the event of a new data packet arriving for the mobile node. The methods of deactivation and reactivation may be used to solve data packet pathway serving faults. The data packet connection pathways that may be reactivated may be done in a load balanced fashion.

  • Publication number: 20070293220
Abstract: An embodiment generally relates a method of joining a call. The method includes establishing the call between an internal mobile terminal (MT), an external MT, and a network access point (NAP). The call comprises a connection between the internal MT and the NAP and a second connection between the NAP and the external MT. The method also includes sensing the call by a second internal MT and joining the call from the second internal MT by depressing a send key without entering a number on the second internal MT.

  • Publication number: 20070171886
Abstract: A system and methods are shown for providing Internet Protocol communication services to a mobile client. One method includes sending a registration request from a radio node to a control node responsive to detecting a mobile client in a service area of the radio node. When the control node receives the request from the radio node, the control node determines a foreign agent to provide communication services to the mobile client. In one embodiment, the control node determines the foreign agent based on a mobile client information record, a radio node record, and a plurality of foreign agent records associated with the radio node. In one embodiment, the control node may select a last serving foreign agent associated with the mobile client.

  • Patent number: 7031275
Abstract: A home agent assigns disjoint ranges of port numbers to mobile nodes that share a global IP address. In response to a registration request message from a mobile node, the home agent transmits to the mobile node its assigned range of port numbers, as an extension to a registration reply message. The home agent maintains data records for the mobile nodes that have registered with it, wherein a data record for a mobile node includes its global IP address, its assigned range of port numbers, and its current address. When the home agent receives data packets destined for one of these registered mobile nodes, as determined from the destination address and destination port number specified in the data packets, the home agent forwards the data packets to the current address listed in the mobile node's data record.
