  • Publication number: 20220391998
Abstract: A method of predicting production characteristics of a hydrocarbon well using time lapse geochemistry fingerprinting and using machine learning to train a reservoir model to accurately predict production characteristics.
    Type: Application
    Filed: June 3, 2022
    Publication date: December 8, 2022
    Applicant: CONOCOPHILLIPS COMPANY
Inventors: Yishu Song, Gerald E. Michael
  • Patent number: 11002722
Abstract: Method of optimizing well placement in an unconventional reservoir, by obtaining a plurality of produced oil, produced water and produced gas samples from an unconventional reservoir over a period of time, and obtaining a plurality of rock samples from the reservoir. Each of those plurality of samples is chemically fingerprinted, as well as assigned time and location identifiers. This data is then used to generate a plurality of reservoir maps over time and those maps then used to optimizing well placement in the reservoir.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 26, 2018
Date of Patent: May 11, 2021
    Assignee: CONOCOPHILLIPS COMPANY
Inventors: Gerald E. Michael, Jason Jweda, Yishu Song, Aaron K. Summerfield, Faye Liu, Pipat Likanapaisal
  • Patent number: 10408962
Abstract: Disclosed are methods of characterizing kerogen and its hydrocarbon generation potential using NMR as the primary analytical tool, and using such data to derive the kinetics of hydrocarbon generation and alteration, thus predicting the hydrocarbon potential of source rock in geological setting, which can then be used in petroleum exploration and production.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 20, 2016
Date of Patent: September 10, 2019
    Assignee: ConocoPhillips Company
    Inventor: Yishu Song

  • Publication number: 20090261247
Abstract: A rectilinear ion trap includes a first pair of spaced planar RF electrodes, mounted in parallel and a second pair of spaced planar electrodes, mounted in parallel and orthogonal to the first pair of electrodes. The configuration of the pairs of electrodes define an axial direction and a radial direction. The trap further includes an RF source that applies an RF voltage to at least one of the pairs of RF electrodes to generate RF fields to trap ions in the axial and radial directions.
    Type: Application

    Publication date: October 22, 2009
