Abstract: A multi-directional digital camera comprising: a light sensor capable of converting incoming light beams into an electrical signal output representing an imaged scene; one or more multi-mode optical path controlling elements, each having at least two operation modes including (a) a first operation mode in which the multi-mode optical path controlling element reflects the light beams directed thereon, and (b) a second operation mode in which the multi-mode optical path controlling element enables passage of the light beams directed thereon; a controller configured to selectively change the imaged scene by selectively changing an optical path of the light beams, wherein changing the optical path is made by changing the operation modes of one or more of the multi-mode optical path controlling elements.

Abstract: A multi-directional projector includes: a laser source capable of emitting laser beams, a reflective surface capable of reflecting the laser beams emitted by the laser source, wherein the reflective surface is movable by a movement mechanism, for causing the laser beams to reflect to a plurality of directions, a plurality of optical elements, each capable of directing incoming laser beams of the laser beams, being the laser beams directed by the reflective surface when moved by the movement mechanism at the direction of the respective optical element, to a respective projection direction with respect to the laser source, wherein at least two of the optical elements direct the respective incoming laser beams in different projection directions having at least a 90 degrees difference.

Abstract: An optical apparatus includes an image sensor, which outputs a signal responsively to an optical image formed on the image sensor. Objective optics focus optical radiation from an object so as to form the optical image on the image sensor, while superimposing a characteristic structure on the optical image. A processor processes the signal so as to generate an electronic image of the object while detecting, responsively to the characteristic structure, a deviation in an alignment of the objective optics relative to the image sensor.

Abstract: A communication system, including a modular wireless communicator including a connector for connecting the communicator to any one of a plurality jacket devices, a controller for receiving identification signals that identify a jacket device that is connected to the communicator, for receiving user input signals generated by input controls from the identified jacket device, and for decoding the received user input signals based on the received identification signals, and a modem for transmitting data over the air in response to the decoded user input signals, and a plurality of jacket devices, each jacket device including input controls for receiving user input and generating corresponding user input signals, and a connector for connecting the jacket device to the communicator and for transmitting the identification signals and the user input signals to the communicator controller, wherein the communicator does not include input controls when a jacket device is not connected thereto.

Abstract: A method for predicting by a user's mobile phone to whom a phone call is being made, including identifying, by a user's mobile phone, at least one file being browsed by the mobile phone, wherein the mobile phone is operable to browse files, each file having one or more contacts associated therewith, when the mobile phone is currently browsing at least one specific file and the user is currently making a phone call, then predicting by the mobile phone that the user is calling a contact associated with the at least one specific file, and facilitating the user's making a phone call to one or more of the predicted contacts.

Abstract: A method for predicting to whom a phone call is being made, including identifying at least one state parameter for a mobile phone, and at least one weighting factor corresponding to the at least one state parameter for each identified state parameter, predicting one or more likely contacts that a user of the mobile phone is calling, given that the user is making a phone call, based on the identified state parameter, for each likely contact, assigning a combined weight to the likely contact based on the at least one weighting factor, ranking the likely contacts according to the combined weights, and facilitating making a phone call to one or more of the likely contacts with the highest rankings. A mobile phone is also described and claimed.
