Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, can aggregate content from one or more electronic publication documents. In one aspect, a method includes obtaining information including an index to content items of an electronic publication including a discrete package of received data that is stored locally, the content items being less than all content in the electronic publication received; retrieving, by a computer based on one or more criteria, two or more of the content items provided in disparate portions of the electronic publication, including the discrete package of received data, using the index; and presenting the two or more of the content items together on an output device in a user interface format different from that of the electronic publication.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for providing a navigation interface to access or otherwise use electronic content items. One embodiment involves a processor executing a content management application to provide a navigation interface. The navigation interface includes multiple visual indicators. Each visual indicator corresponds to an item of electronic content. The embodiment also involves the content management application expanding the first tab in response to receiving a first input selecting a visual indicator in the navigation interface. The embodiment also involves the content management application presenting information describing a respective item of electronic content corresponding to the selected visual indicator in response to receiving a second input to the selected visual indicator. The embodiment also involves the content management application rendering the respective item of electronic content for display in response to receiving a third input to the selected tab.

In one aspect, a method includes identifying a program operating on a second device; selecting a code set, from among multiple code sets, based on the identified program operating on the second device; modifying, at a first device, operation of an application installed on the first device by running the selected code set at the first device; and controlling a function of the program operating on the second device using the modified application on the first device.
