Abstract: The map display device may be a mobile terminal device, and a map is displayed on the display unit. The display unit may be a liquid crystal display device of touch-panel type, and detects the contact position of the contact body such as a user's finger, a touch pen or else. When plural contact bodies contact the display unit, the display mode is changed from the normal display mode to the map rotation mode based on the movement amounts of the contact bodies. In the map rotation mode, the displayed map is rotated and displayed based on the movement amount of the contact position of the contact body. When only one contact body is in contact with the display unit after the change to the map rotation mode, the displayed map is rotated and displayed based on the movement amount of the contact position of the one contact body.
