  • Patent number: 7062026
Abstract: An alert control method in telephone equipment allowing communication with a certain person to be ensured is disclosed. A last-communication time of day related to a name of a person to communicate with is stored in a phonebook database. It is determined whether a predetermined time interval has elapsed after the last-communication time of day without communicating with the person. When it is determined that the predetermined time interval has elapsed without communicating with the person, an audible or silent alert is made to alert the user to make a call to that person.

  • Patent number: 7006839
Abstract: A letter message including transmitter's name, letter message destination telephone number 62 and letter message text 63, is worked out and stored in a memory 8 in advance by using an input unit 5 and a display unit 4 before commencing communication with the opposite side thereof. When commencing communication with the opposite side, the letter message is transmitted thereto at the time of ending the communication. The opposite side terminal stores the received letter message in a memory 8, and also displays the message on the display unit 4. If necessary, the reception of the letter message is informed as an alarm from a loudspeaker 7.

  • Patent number: 6763238
Abstract: A portable communication system and a storage medium storing a program for the portable communication system which are capable of temporarily stopping transmissions from the portable communication system, while being capable of using other functions such as information processing function, etc. separately from the transmitting function. The portable communication system comprises a control circuit, a display section, a loudspeaker, a vibrator, a memory, a data input section, a receiving section, a transmitting section, a timer, an antenna, a power circuit, a switch, and a power-supply circuit. When the user inputs a transmission suspension command to the control circuit using the data input section, the timer is activated. The timer generates a power cut-off signal to turn off the switch. As a result, the power supplied to the transmitting section from the power circuit via the power-supply circuit is cut off, to cause the transmitting section to be at recess.

  • Patent number: 6573825
Abstract: A communication apparatus allowing easy setting operation of alerting mode and a high degree of flexibility in setting an alerting mode. A character-scale table contains scale note data associated with each of numeric characters. One of a first alerting mode and a second alerting mode can be selected by a user. The first alerting mode provides an alerting pattern which is determined by referring to the character-scale table depending on the source identification number. The second alerting mode provides a preset alerting pattern. When the incoming call does not include the source identification number, an alerting device operates in the second alerting mode. When the incoming call includes the source identification number, the alerting device operates in a selected one of the first alerting mode and the second alerting mode.
