    Abstract: The starter includes a noise reduction filter having at least one capacitor, a positive side lead plate connected to a first end of the capacitor and a negative side lead plate connected to a second end of the capacitor, the positive side lead plate being connected to a motor lead wire of a motor through a connection fitting, the negative side lead plate being fixed and ground-connected to a frame of the motor. The connection fitting includes a connection arm connected to the positive side lead plate and a cylindrical joint section integrally formed with the connection arm, the joint section being fitted in a root section of the motor lead wire drawn outside the frame through a grommet attached to the frame to be electrically connected to the motor lead wire.

    Abstract: In a band elimination filter, a plurality of capacitors are connected in parallel between first and second terminals of an electromagnetic noise source which generates voltage fluctuations in a connecting lead connected to the first terminal, with the capacitors being connected to the connecting lead at respectively corresponding branch points. For each capacitor, the total series inductance of a first circuit path is made less than that of a second circuit path, where the first circuit path extends from the corresponding branch point to the second terminal via the capacitor, and the second circuit path extends from that branch point to the first terminal of the electromagnetic noise source. A resistor is connected in series with at least one of the capacitors, for damping parallel resonance caused by inductance components of an adjacent pair of capacitors.

    Abstract: A noise reduction device for a starter includes a positive electrode connected to a power supply line via a branch wire, a grounding electrode connected to ground via a motor body of a motor, two capacitors connected in parallel with each other between the positive electrode and the grounding electrode, and a resin package into which the positive electrode and the grounding electrode are inserted and fixed. The package holds the two capacitors. The two capacitors include a capacitor body and two lead terminals extracted from the capacitor body in the same direction with respect to the capacitor body. The two capacitors are arranged in such a direction that the lead terminals of one thereof face the lead terminals of the other thereof across the positive electrode and the grounding electrode. The two lead terminals are joined to the positive electrode and the grounding electrode by welding.

    Abstract: A starter includes a motor, an electromagnetic switch, and a noise reduction device. The motor is connected to a power supply line via a motor lead line, and produces torque by power supplied from a battery. The electromagnetic switch includes an electric contact connected to the power supply line via a battery-side terminal and a motor-side terminal, and opens and closes the electric contact in conjunction with on-off operation of a solenoid. The noise reduction device includes at least one capacitor inserted between ground and the power supply line, and reduces noise produced from the motor. In the starter, a conductor is inserted between the motor-side terminal and the motor lead line as an inductance component capable of increasing an impedance of a starter equivalent circuit of the starter. The at least one capacitor is inserted between ground and one end of the conductor connected to the motor-side terminal.
