  • Publication number: 20060159692
Abstract: A new method for treating cancer by inducing apoptosis exclusively in cancer cells and killing them is provided. The present invention relates to a transcriptional factor, comprising p53 or a mutated type p53, wherein one or more amino acids are deleted, substituted or added with respect to the amino sequence of p53, and clathrin heavy chains and having an activity to induce apoptosis of cancer cells. The transcriptional factor enhances the transcriptional activity of p53AIP1 promoter and induces apoptosis of cancer cells.

  • Publication number: 20060035296
Abstract: A method for simply and conveniently detecting acetyltransferase and deacetylase activities of proteins by executing an acetylation reaction of a peptide substrate with an acetyltransferase, or a deacetylation reaction of an acetylated peptide substrate with a deacetylase, and after the completion of these reactions, detecting the acetyl group bound to the peptide substrate by using an anti-acetylated peptide antibody. This system for detecting acetyltransferase and deacetylase activities using the anti-acetylated peptide antibody enables screening inhibitors or enhancers of acetyltransferase and deacetylase. A system for screening deacetylase inhibitors or acetyltransferase enhancers using cultured cells is also provided.

  • Patent number: 5666591
Abstract: An image forming apparatus having a voltage generating circuit for generating a bias voltage which is supplied to a developing unit upon reception of a discharge voltage from the charger, for charging a photosensitive drum, based on the discharge voltage. The voltage generating circuit is controlled by a timing signal supplied from the CPU, so that the bias voltage is applied to the developing unit when the photosensitive drum rotates by a predetermined angle and is set at a position where development is carried out.

  • Patent number: 5012283
Abstract: A copying apparatus includes a housing in which are arranged an image carrier and an exposure unit both for emitting light to an original placed on the original stand to form an electrostatic latent image on the image carrier and for emitting light to the image carrier to erase the electrostatic latent image. The exposure unit includes a lamp having light emitting portions and non-light emitting portions which are alternately connected together. A reflector is located around the lamp and directs the light emitted from the lamp toward the original. The reflector has a plurality of openings formed to face the lamp, so that part of the light emitted from the lamp passes through the openings and is directed to the image carrier. The reflector has a plurality of connecting portions facing the non-light-emitting portions and located between adjacent ones of the openings.
