  • Patent number: 6094482
Abstract: A transmission/reception system includes a transmitter for transmitting pay information, and a plurality of receivers. The transmitter includes a service center for editing contents to be transmitted, and a transmitting station for receiving the contents from the service center and transmitting same. The plurality of receivers each include a mounting portion in which a storage element may be removably mounted. The storage element pre-stores charging information for permitting reception of the pay information and is sold at a predetermined cost. Each receiver determines whether it is allowed to receive and reproduce the pay information in accordance with the charging information stored in the storage element mounted in the mounting portion. When the storage element is purchased, the cost is remitted or electronically sent to one of the service center and an account of said service center. Another part of the cost is remitted to one of the transmitting station and an account of the transmitting station.

  • Patent number: 6057808
Abstract: A service information receiving apparatus for receiving pay service information and date data which is multiplexed on FM broadcast waves transmitted from an FM broadcasting station, wherein use end day data calculated on the basis of valid term relative value data stored in a detachable IC card installed in the service information receiving apparatus and the received date data is acquired and stored, and the stored use end date data and received date data are compared. The display of pay service information is permitted while both data do not coincide, and the display of pay service information is prohibited after both data have coincided.

  • Patent number: 6052388
Abstract: An FM radio receiver receives and displays program data which is affixed with a return destination box number and return form type data and has been transmitted from an FM broadcasting station 1 in the multiplexed form on FM broadcast radio waves. In responding to a displayed program through the FM radio receiver, first, the FM radio receiver 2 reads a return form corresponding to the return form type data from a ROM card 24 and displays the form. A user inputs return message data according to the displayed return form. FM radio receiver 2 transmits the return destination box number data in addition to the return message data to a service center 5. The service center 5 stores the received return message data in a box corresponding to the return destination box number data affixed to the received return message data. The return message data is edited and collected box by box. The edited and/or collected results are sent to the FM broadcasting station 1 as needed.

  • Patent number: 5909184
Abstract: A service information receiving device receives pay service information and year/month/day-of-month data, both multiplexed with FM broadcast radiowaves and transmitted from an FM broadcasting station. The device compares the use end date data, stored in an information storage medium which is detachable from the device, with the year/month/day-of-month data received by the device, and the device permits the display of the pay service information during the period in which these two sets of data disagree with each other, and after they have coincided with each other, inhibits the display of the pay service information.

  • Patent number: 5508470
Abstract: An indication or image on a display unit is switched in response to changes in performance data of a tune which is being played automatically. Tone pitch data included in the performance data are detected, and the indication (image) on a display is switched in response to changes in the detected tone pitch data. Velocity data and tone color data in the performance data may be used in place of the tone pitch data. If a tune is automatically played based on a plurality of performance data which are simultaneously read out, the indication on the display is switched based on changes in either of the plurality of performance data. If switching data representing changes of rhythm of the tune is included in the performance data, the switching data are detected, and are used to change a way of switching the indication (image) on the display. The indication or image on the display may be switched at timings based on beats or strong beats or at timings of measures.

  • Patent number: 4972755
Abstract: A plurality of pad operating means for manual operation are provided on a keyboard panel of an electronic keyboard musical instrument. When an operator operates the pad operating means using the keyboard during melody play, an operation signal is supplied to a CPU, and a rhythm sound corresponding to the operated pad is generated under control of the CPU. An automatic sound signal generator is provided for generating and outputting sound signals according to a designated rhythm, and selectively stops such sound signal generation. A sounding system is provided for sounding the signals received thereby.
