  • Patent number: 7945866
Abstract: Methods of displaying video content include obtaining a video content record to be displayed and determining an associated aging characteristic associated with the video content record. A current age is determined for the obtained video content record and a modified video content record is generated for display based on the determined aging characteristic and the determined current age of the obtained video content record. The obtained video content record may be an animation, which may include audio data. The obtained video content record may also be a still image.

  • Patent number: 7817587
Abstract: Some embodiments of the present invention provide methods of operating an electronic device, such as a wireless communications terminal, a personal digital assistant and/or a media player, having a personal information manager, such as a scheduling application and/or a contact management application. Data is received at the electronic device, the received data including audio and/or visual content and associated personal information manager data. The personal information manager is controlled responsive to the personal information manager data.

  • Patent number: 7646972
Abstract: A camera described herein captures a plurality of images at different focus settings to improve the probability that the camera captures a clear representation of a desired object in a potentially ambiguous scene. According to one exemplary embodiment, the camera selects a plurality of focus settings corresponding to different focal points in a range of focal points. Subsequently, the camera automatically captures successive images of the scene at the selected focus settings in response to a single activation of a shutter control. The user may select one or more of the captured images for storage, transmission to a remote device, and/or further processing.

  • Publication number: 20090044686
Abstract: A system and method are provided for incorporating music into other, non-music applications of an electronic device. The metadata of music files on an electronic device may be searched according to specified search criteria. The metadata search identifies matching music that would be appropriate to play while using, or incorporate into, a non-music application. If the metadata search indicates that the mobile device does not have stored in memory an appropriate matching music file, then the user may be directed to a server or other location on a communications network that stores music files. The user may then download or stream the music files whose metadata matches the search criteria from the network for incorporation into the non-music application.

  • Publication number: 20090047993
Abstract: To improve the consumer experience with electronic devices, an improved system and method is provided for selecting and applying optimal settings for listening to digital music. In exemplary embodiments, optimal equalizer settings for a given song or music category may be stored in the metadata of the music file. When the song is played by an electronic device, the optimal equalizer settings are extracted from the music metadata. The equalizer of the electronic device then may adjust automatically to the optimal settings as extracted from the metadata. The optimal settings may be defined by a content provider or selected by a user as a series of personal preferences. By adjusting the equalizer settings automatically to the optimal settings, enjoyment of the music may be enhanced.
