  • Patent number: 11990615
Abstract: A cathode active material for a lithium secondary battery includes a lithium-transition metal composite oxide particle having a lattice strain (?) of 0.18 or less, which is calculated by applying Williamson-Hall method defined by Equation 1 to XRD peaks measured through XRD analysis, and having an XRD peak intensity ratio of 8.9% or less, which is defined by Equation 2. By controlling the lattice strain and XRD peak intensity ratio of the lithium-transition metal composite oxide particle, a lithium secondary battery with improved life-span characteristics as well as output characteristics is provided.

  • Publication number: 20240116135
Abstract: An apparatus for manufacturing a secondary battery includes: an index table configured to receive a secondary battery cell, the secondary battery cell including an electrode assembly, a can accommodating the electrode assembly, and an electrode tab between the electrode assembly and the can to electrically connect the electrode assembly to the can; a laser scanner configured to irradiate laser onto an outer surface of the can to weld the electrode tab to the can; and a controller configured to variably control the laser scanner according to an operation of the index table.

  • Patent number: 8174795
Abstract: A hard disk drive has a disk, a spindle motor for rotating the disk, a head stack assembly including a swing arm and a head slider disposed at a leading end of the swing arm, and a controller operatively connected to the head slider. The head slider is positioned by the swing arm over the disk and floats in such position during a read/write operation in which data is being read from or written onto the disk. The head slider has a head slider body, a magnetic head embedded in the body, and at least one resistive heating element that generates heat when current is supplied thereto. The heat causes the body of the head slider to thermally expand in such a way that the profile of the disk-facing side of the body of the head slider changes. The controller controls the height of the head slider relative to the disk by controlling the supplying of current to the resistive heating element(s).

  • Publication number: 20110242707
Abstract: A hard disk drive includes a magnetic head to write data to a disk by magnetizing the disk using a leakage magnetic flux that leaks in a disk direction through a write gap provided between a write pole to apply a magnetic field to the disk and a shield provided separately from the write pole, and an actuator arm allowing the magnetic head to pivot over the disk. In the hard disk drive, the write gap is asymmetrically formed to a left and a right with respect to a center axis line of the write pole according to a movement direction of the magnetic head when the magnetic head pivots over the disk.
