Abstract: A backlight assembly and a method of assembling the backlight assembly that includes a plurality of lamps having first and second electrodes, a receiving container and a lamp ground member. The receiving container has a bottom plate over which the lamps are disposed, and a side wall extending from the bottom plate to form a receiving space. The lamp ground member includes a ground plate grounded to the bottom plate, and a plurality of electrode ground portions protruded from the ground plate and making contact with the first electrode thereby eliminating the need for a separate part for grounding the first electrode of the lamp and permitting easier assembly of the backlight assembly.

Abstract: A lamp socket with decreased number of components is presented. The lamp socket includes a socket housing and a power supply member. The socket housing has a connecting hole. The power supply member includes a first lamp connecting terminal and a second lamp connecting terminal. The first lamp connecting terminal is inserted into the connecting hole and includes a first fixing portion that extends through the connecting hole and a first guide portion that extends from an end portion of the first fixing portion toward a first inner wall of the connecting hole. The second lamp connecting terminal is inserted into the connecting hole and includes a second fixing portion that extends through the connecting hole and a second guide portion that extends from an end portion of the second fixing portion toward a second inner wall of the connecting hole.

Abstract: A frame for a display apparatus includes a plurality of frame members, each of which includes a side wall portion, a supporting portion, and a coupling portion, and a plurality of coupling members. The side wall portion covers a side of a display apparatus. The supporting portion is extended from the side wall to form an angle and covers a side portion of an upper surface of the display apparatus. The coupling portion is formed at one of the side wall portion and the supporting portion. The coupling members are disposed at corner portions of the display apparatus. Each of the coupling members is insertable into each coupling portion of the two frame members, respectively, to combine the two frame members with each other.

Abstract: A backlight assembly includes a plurality of lamps, a power supply unit, a receiving container and an adhesive member. The power supply unit applies a driving voltage to a first electrode part of each of the lamps. The lamps are disposed parallel to the bottom plate of the receiving container. A ground part makes contact with a second electrode part of each of the lamps. The adhesion member secures the second electrode part to the ground part.

Abstract: In accordance with an embodiment of the present invention, a display device is provided that includes a display panel configured to display an image, a plurality of driver integrated circuit packages that include a base film and an integrated circuit chip mounted on the base film and of which one side is attached to an edge of the display panel, and a supporting member that fixedly supports the display panel. The supporting member includes a supporting body that fixedly supports the display panel, and a contact heat dissipating portion that protrudes from the supporting body and comes in contact with the driver integrated circuit packages in an area where the integrated circuit chip is formed.

Abstract: A lamp fixing unit capable of simplifying the manufacture of a backlight assembly by eliminating the need for manual procedures is presented. The lamp fixing unit includes a fixing member and a lamp holder. The fixing member includes a fixing body and at least one receiving portion. The lamp holder includes a holder body and a conductive socket. The holder body includes a board insertion portion, a power supply member, and a lamp fixing member. Thus, the power supply member may be easily coupled to and uncoupled from the lamp holder, and the lamp may be easily grounded.

Abstract: A lamp holder includes a holder body and a power connector. A lamp guide groove is formed on an upper portion of the holder body. An inverter insertion groove is formed on a lower portion of the holder body, and a power supply board is slidably coupled to the inverter insertion groove. The power connector includes a first portion exposed to the inverter insertion groove, and a second portion disposed adjacent to the lamp guide groove. The lamp holder fixed to a fixing groove of an insulation plate is inserted into an opening formed through a bottom plate of a receiving container. Thus, a backlight assembly having the lamp holder may be easily assembled and repaired.

The first body part includes at least one first lamp fixing portion disposed on an upper surface of the first body part. The second body part is slidably combined with the first body part. The second body part includes a second lamp fixing portion being combined with the first lamp fixing portion and defining a space through which a lamp is inserted to be fixed.

Abstract: A lamp fixing member includes a body portion, a lamp fixing portion and an upper supporting plate. The lamp fixing portion is disposed on the upper surface of the body portion and has a groove for fixing a lamp. The upper supporting plate is combined with the lamp fixing portion and fixes an upper portion of the lamp. The lamp fixing portion includes a combining portion for being combined with the upper supporting plate. The supporting plate and lamp fixing portion may be formed of a silicone material. Therefore, the efficiency of lamp assembly is enhanced by automated assembly process and a display quality is enhanced by reducing temperature deviation in the lamp fixing portion. The lamp fixing portion may further include a lower supporting plate combined with the lamp fixing portion to fix a lower portion of the lamp.

Abstract: A lamp, lamp holder, and a power supply substrate that allow easy fabrication of a backlight assembly or a power supply module for a display device are presented. The lamp includes a lamp tube and an electrode that extends outside the lamp tube to form a lamp lead. The lamp holder includes a body for holding the lamp tube and a power supply member for providing voltage to the lamp lead. A power supply module includes a power supply substrate combined with a lamp holder holding the lamp. The lamp holders are fixed to fixing portions of the power supply substrate or to fixing holes of a connection plate. As the design allows easy separation of the lamp holders from the power supply substrate, building a backlight assembly or a display device is facilitated.
