  • Publication number: 20140351828
Abstract: An apparatus and method for controlling a multi-core SoC including a main core and at least one sub-core are disclosed. The apparatus includes a determination unit, a storage unit, and a control unit. The determination unit determines whether or not to drive the sub-core by taking the performance or power of the multi-core SoC into consideration. The storage unit stores state information including a register of the main core or the sub-core in accordance with a determination of the determination unit. The control unit performs control so that the main core and the sub-core execute a sub-task, that is, a task of the sub-core, through exchange by sharing the state information.

  • Publication number: 20100039943
Abstract: An apparatus and method for measuring frame loss in multicast service traffic are provided. The method of measuring frame loss includes: counting the number of data frames of a predetermined multicast service flowing into an object network of frame loss measurement; counting the number of data frames of the predetermined multicast service flowing out of the network; and measuring frame loss by comparing the counted number of incoming frames and the counted number of outgoing frames. According to the method and apparatus, in a multicast service environment which is dynamically changing, frame loss of a predetermined multicast service can be conveniently and easily measured.

  • Publication number: 20090254676
Abstract: A method for transferring data frame end-to-end in a local area network is provided. In the method, a virtual synch frame shaper is loaded on a frame transmission layer structure provided in end stations in transmitting and receiving sides, which transmits data frame passing through a plurality of Ethernet switches in the LAN. Then, slot counters, which are counted through the virtual synch frame shaper, are exchanged between the end stations, and the slot counters are synchronized. Afterward, the transmit time slot is allocated based on the synchronized slot counters for transmitting data frames between the end stations. Finally, data frames are transmitted based on the synchronized slot counters and the allocated transmit time slot.

  • Publication number: 20080267074
Abstract: Provided is a method of setting a QoS packet flow and processing a QoS packet for providing a QoS service. In the method of setting a QoS packet flow in the packet switching system, whether there are VOQs that are not pre-allocated is determined in response to a QoS packet flow setting request. If there are no VOQs that are not pre-allocated, it is determined whether there are VOQs that have not been used for a predetermined period. If there are VOQs that have not been used for the predetermined period, one of the VOQs is selected. Thereafter, an inactive state of a flow using the selected VOQ is indicated and QoS parameters set for the flow are released. Therefore, metro Ethernet services such as E-LINE and E-LAN can be provided in an Ethernet network and custom QoS services such as Diff Serv and ACL can be provided in an IP network. Also, limited resources can be efficiently used and thus costs can be reduced.

  • Publication number: 20080133545
Abstract: A terminal device with a function of distributing data, a method and a system for distributing multimedia data using the same are provided. In order to reduce loads of a core network and effectively use a network, the terminal device includes: a storage unit storing data; a data request monitor sensing a request for the data which is transmitted from another terminal device through a network; and a data controller determining whether the requested data is stored in the storage unit in response to the request for the data and transmitting the data to the requesting terminal device through the network when the requested data is stored in the storage unit. Accordingly, it is possible to expect an effect as in a case where a plurality of data severs are installed with low costs.

  • Patent number: 7274654
Abstract: A method for sharing a backup path in a MultiProtocol Label Switching (MPLS) network, a label switching router (LSR) for setting a backup path in an MPLS network, a system for setting a backup path in an MPLS network, and a recording medium therefor are provided. The method includes the steps of acquiring link configuration information of links included in a working path when the working path is set between a source node and a destination node, and allocating bands for a backup path using the link configuration information when the backup path is set between the source node and the destination node. In the method, an optimal band is allocated to each of links included in a backup path by calculating a band using information, which is obtained during setting of a working path, about at least one other working path sharing links with the working path when the backup path is set, thereby efficiently managing network resources without wasting them.

  • Patent number: 7266124
Abstract: The present invention presents a method for setting up a QoS (Quality-of-Service) supported bi-directional tunnel and distributing L2VPN (Layer-2 Virtual Private Network) membership information for an L2VPN using an extended LDP (Label Distribution Protocol). In a network providing MPLS based L2VPN service, which includes a plurality of VPN provider edges (PEs), a plurality of VPN customer edges (CEs) connected to the PEs and a VPN DNS (Domain Name Service) server for managing PE information associated with a plurality of VPNs, a PE registers information associated with the VPN DNS server to provide the L2VPN service, and uses the extended LDP for QoS supported bi-directional tunnel setup and the extended LDP for QoS supported L2VPN membership information distribution. A VPN CE needs only a simple Layer-2 connection providing function for the L2VPN service.

  • Publication number: 20040088424
Abstract: The present invention provides a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP)-based load balancing apparatus and method. The apparatus receives a message transmitted from a user at a position in front of a plurality of proxy servers each connected in parallel and decodes the received message. The apparatus selectively performs addition, renewal and deletion of user information according to an expiration field of a header and transmits the decoded message to a proxy server, if the decoded message is a REGISTER message, searches for a proxy server that will handle a destination address, increases a load of the proxy server and transmits the decoded message to the proxy server, if the decoded message is a INVITE message, and examines a proxy server of the destination address and transmits the decoded message to the proxy server, if the decoded message is a BYE message.
