Abstract: Provided is a method of transmitting preview content and a method and apparatus for receiving the preview content, wherein the method of transmitting preview content includes providing program guide service information by a content server to a program guide server; transmitting the program guide service information by the program guide server to a receiving apparatus when the program guide server is accessed by the receiving apparatus; and transmitting preview content corresponding to contents of the program guide service information by a preview content server to the receiving apparatus when the preview content server is accessed by the receiving apparatus.

Abstract: A method of processing a digital television signal in a digital television receiver includes receiving a digital television (DTV) signal including an event information table (EIT) containing information chronological order for events on defined virtual channels, demodulating the received DTV signal, demultiplexing the EIT from the demodulated DTV signal, parsing related event information from the demultiplexed EIT, the related event information defining one or more related events associated with a current event which is currently being displayed, and storing the parsed event information.

Abstract: A broadcast transmitting apparatus, method of transmitting broadcast data, broadcast receiver, and method of receiving broadcaster data are disclosed. If data of a contents guide is updated, updated information of the contents guide is transmitted to the broadcast receiver. The broadcast receiver receives the updated information and can determine whether the contents guide data has been updated, based on the updated information. Therefore, the updated contents guide data can be requested and received as needed, thus reducing burdens of a network and receiver. Further, the receiver can maintain the latest information about contents, so as to increase reliability of information.
