  • Patent number: 5446645
Abstract: In a uninterruptible power supply in which a plurality of inverters are operated in parallel, a current control loop is provided which responds to the magnitude of an output current of each inverter brought into parallel running to change a command value for a voltage waveform control circuit associated with each inverter, and the gain of the current control loop is made to be variable, whereby currents shared by the inverters can be set desirably to effectively suppress a cross current flowing between the inverters upon establishment of parallel running.

  • Patent number: 5298848
Abstract: A large capacity (1-2 MkVA) driving system for variable-speed-driving an AC motor by a power converter (inverter, converter) in which GTO (gate turn-off) thyristors are used as switching devices. In this system, high frequency GTO thyristors are connected in series, power converters are multiplexed, the AC motor is used in its plural phases, instantaneous spatial vector PWM (pulse width modulation) control is performed, vector control for the motor is performed, and a circuit for recovering snubber energy for GTO thyristors and a power factor adjusting circuit are provided. Thus, this driving system provides a torque ripple of 1% or less, speed response of 60 rad/sec or more, efficiency of 95% or more and a power factor of 98% or more.

  • Patent number: 4306138
Abstract: A power supply apparatus for a resistance welder has an inverse-parallel thyristor circuit for constrolling the welding current. One of thyristors connected in inverse-parallel relationship is turned on by a first signal whose reference phase is established by a synchronizing signal which is based on a voltage wave form of an AC power source and the other thyristor is turned on by a second signal whose reference phase is established by a signal which is delayed half a period of the voltage wave form with respect to the first signal, so that integrals of positive and negative halves of the output voltage wave form of the inverse parallel thyristor circuit can always be made equal.
