  • Patent number: 6163912
Abstract: A torque current component and an exciting current component of primary AC currents which are supplied to a stator of a three-phase induction motor are commanded independently of each other in accordance with a command rotational angular velocity and a rotational angular velocity of the three-phase induction motor rotating an agitator, and the rotational angular velocity of the three-phase induction motor is controlled by changing the magnitude and frequency of each of the primary AC currents. Furthermore, a test operation is carried out by giving the command angular velocity so as to make constant the angular velocity of the motor, and the laundry amount is estimated corresponding to an output torque of the motor in the test operation.

  • Patent number: 6141602
Abstract: When processing a specimen by a plurality of specimen processing devices arranged along a transportation line, a specimen tag on which a coded group code representing a combination including at least one processing item is adhered on the specimen container. A plurality of such specimen containers are mounted on a specimen support bearing a specific carrier tag. Prior to transporting the specimen support, the specimen tags and the carrier tag are read, and based on the read result, an information management and controlling unit and the respective specimen processing devices manage a corresponding relationship between the carrier tag and the group codes. At the respective specimen processing devices the specimen support is identified and the processing corresponding to the group code is performed for the respective concerned specimen.

  • Patent number: 5701066
Abstract: A control system for an induction motor of the present invention independently commands the torque current component and the exciting current component of a stator current group supplied to the stator of an induction motor so as to feed-back control the amplitude and phase of the stator current group. The torque current component is commanded to control the output torque of the induction motor in correspondence with the output of a steering force sensor for detecting the steering force. According to an electric power steering apparatus using an induction motor controlled by the control system, a permanent magnet is not used for the motor so additional equipment such as a clutch is not required. Consequently, the structure can be simplified and the size of the unit can be reduced. Further, manual steering operation can be performed in the case of failure.

  • Patent number: 5652495
Abstract: A controller for a permanent magnet synchronous motor which includes a D-axis current command section and a Q-axis current command section. The D-axis current command section increases the command value of the D-axis current so as to set a judged value to be zero by leading the current phase when the judged value is positive. In addition, the D-axis current command section decreases the command value of the D-axis current when the judged value is negative. Moreover, the D-axis current command section holds the command value of the D-axis current at a predetermined minimum value when the decreasing command value of the D-axis current becomes smaller than the predetermined minimum value. The Q-axis current command section is responsible for supplying a command value of the Q-axis current.

  • Patent number: 5515698
Abstract: Apparatus for removing and collecting fiber waste from a creel stand having multiple, juxtaposed creel sections including an air suction/blower blowing a first air stream across the top of the creel sections and creating a second air stream flowing across the bottom of the creel sections. An air deflector reciprocating across the top of the creel sections deflects the first air stream downwardly through the creel sections. A bottom plenum beneath the creel sections receives the air stream from the creel sections and confines and directs the second air stream to the suction/blower. A second blower blows air through the bottom plenum toward the suction/blower to assist the suction/blower in creating the second air stream. A plurality of baffles are included in the bottom plenum to provide laminar air flow therein.

  • Patent number: 5417583
Abstract: An insulation-piercing connector includes a terminal block having therein a plurality of piercing terminals, and a piercing block having wire receiving apertures. When the terminal and piercing blocks are forced closer together, insulated wires of a cable received in the wire receiving apertures of the piercing block are forced into U-shaped grooves of the piercing terminals so that inner edges of the U-shaped grooves pierce into conductors of the insulated wires to electrically connect between the conductors and the piercing terminals, respectively. The piercing block is further formed at the forward ends of the wire receiving apertures with U-shaped grooves whose opposed walls form flanges which may be tapered toward each other. A distance between the opposed walls of the U-shaped grooves is less than the outer diameter of the insulated wires but more than the outer diameter of the conductors of the wires.

  • Patent number: 5379614
Abstract: A dust removal and collection system which includes a suction fan for creating upwardly and inwardly flowing air streams through a knitting section and a yarn feeding and guiding device for removing dust and other fiber waste from the components thereof. An airstream receiving and confining hood overlies the knitting section and defines therethrough an air passageway. An entrance end of the air passageway is disposed radially outwardly of and above the knitting section so that the upwardly flowing air stream flows outwardly of the knitting section to carry dust and other fiber waste entrained therein upwardly and outwardly from the knitting components such that no dust or other fiber waste will return to the knitting components. A waste collection device cooperates with the hood to receive and collect the dust and other fiber waste removed from the double knitting machine.

  • Patent number: 5326282
Abstract: A miniature multiple electrical connector consists of a plug connector and a receptacle connector having an insulating block and a metal shell. The metal shell is fixed to the insulating block by fitting anchoring protrusions provided along both sides of the insulating block in anchoring apertures of fixing tongues provided on the metal shell. When the plug connector is being inserted into the receptacle connector, the metal shell of the receptacle connector is likely to be deformed by a metal shell of the plug connector. In order to prevent such a deformation of the metal shell, there is provided means for anchoring the center of the metal shell weakest in mechanical strength to the insulating block or means for preventing application of a force to the center of the metal shell when the plug connector is being inserted into the receptacle connector.
