Abstract: A file is provided. A case has a first opening. A first pocket is removably stored in the case through the first opening. The case is provided with a first magnet to be attachable to an attachment wall made of ferromagnetic material by magnetic force of the first magnet. The first pocket is provided with a second magnet to be attachable to the attachment wall by magnetic force of the second magnet in a state where that case is attached to the attachment wall.

Abstract: In an image reader with an automatic document feeding (ADF) unit, even when various documents such as color multi-value, color binary, monochrome multi-value, and monochrome binary documents are installed in the ADF unit, the user need not beforehand conduct any setting operations related to the above attributes. The image reading apparatus includes an ADF unit for conveying a document sheet onto a document glass plate a light source for emitting a light beam onto the document, an optical system for receiving reflection light reflected by the document and producing a focused document image, a color image sensor for separating the focused document image into images respectively of a plurality of colors and thereby reading color images, an image read controller having a plurality of read modes, and a carriage for setting an image read position.

Abstract: An image signals of a black reference plate, a white reference plate and a manuscript detected by an image sensor are converted into digital data by an A/D converter, and in the A/D conversion, the image signal of the black reference plate which is enhanced in level is applied to the A/D converter, and then the enhanced digital data for the black reference plate is returned to an original level, and a corrected image data which is represented by a difference of the image data of the manuscript and the image data of the black reference plate is issued.

Abstract: In general, an image reader is provided with an image sensor wherein a plurality of reading devices are disposed in a row so as to be able to read image data of a first line of an original. This image sensor is then moved in the direction perpendicular to the row of the reading devices so as to read image data of the next line. As a result, image data of the original is read in a distributed manner at each of a number of lattice reading points of an original. The image reader of the present invention is provided with a filter which does not allow light of certain frequencies to pass through. The light which is stopped has frequencies exceeding half the spatial frequency of a lattice of the reading points. The image reader inputs through the filter image data from four reading points which are disposed adjacent to each other. An averaged data item, which is averaged in an arithmetic mean manner, from four image data items, is output as an averaged image datum.
