  • Publication number: 20060016065
Abstract: A lens shape piezoelectric device which is thinner than the manufacture limit thickness, which is conventionally difficult to manufacture, and a method for manufacturing the same. The piezoelectric device has a oscillation part having at least two steps where one side thereof is planar and the opposite side is thickest at a peripheral holding portion and thinner toward the central portion. A piezoelectric element of another embodiment has an oscillation part of at least two steps where the peripheral holding portion is thickest on both sides and the thickness decreases toward the central portion. In these piezoelectric devices, at least one side of the thinnest central portion of the oscillation part has a convex lens shape. A pair of electrodes are vacuum deposited in the center of these oscillation parts on both sides, and a gold wire is led as a lead wire from each electrode.

  • Patent number: 6203644
Abstract: A method and apparatus for manufacturing high-frequency oscillator elements from a workpiece material includes a tool holder formed of magnetic material providing a magnetic field at a tip thereof and a spherical whetstone made of a magnetic material. A grinding mount is made of a magnetic material installed on a main rotating shaft proximate the tool holder through which flux of the magnetic field is channeled. The spherical whetstone held at the tip of the tool holder by magnetic attraction. The workpiece material is mounted on the grinding mount and the tool holder is rotated around an axis coincident with a center of the spherical whetstone while bringing the spherical whetstone into engagement with the workpiece material to lap the workpiece material.

  • Patent number: 5722345
Abstract: A method transporting live fish including shellfish for a long period of time and with less damage to the fish bodies includes immobilizing the fish prior to transportation. One electrode is provided at the head portion of the fish, and another electrode is provided at the tail portion of the fish, whereby a current is allowed to flow between the electrodes to place the fish in an anesthetized condition, after which the spinal cord of the fish is cut. By this method, the live fish are immobilized. Then, only the fish are inserted through a fish insertion opening of a bag for transporting the fish, wherein at the upper portion of the bag formed of a material having water resistance and being thermally fused is formed, integral with the material, a web-like pouring tube for liquid with air or oxygen.

  • Patent number: 4607496
Abstract: A method of holding an polishing a workpiece whereby a liquid such as water is applied between the workpiece and a support member and the liquid is frozen to secure the workpiece to the support member. A polishing member is positioned in contact with the workpiece in a grinding liquid and the polishing member and the workpiece are moved relative to each other to polish the workpiece. Grooves or through holes may be provided in a surface of the support member to hold the water or other suitable liquid. The liquid to be frozen further may be impregnated into a liquid absorbing material.

  • Patent number: 4494338
Abstract: A lens-shaped article or the like which has a support frame formed as a unitary structure with the outer periphery of the lens-shaped body, and a method and apparatus for the manufacture of such a lens-shaped article or the like. The manufacturing method and apparatus are of particular utility when employed for the manufacture of small resonators. Also when the resonators are formed as small as possible, it is possible to obtain high Q and prevent sub-vibration. In the case of a framed lens, it can easily be assembled with high precision.
