Abstract: An electrochemical reaction unit which includes a unit cell including an electrolyte layer, a cathode, and an anode facing each other in a first direction; a current collector disposed on a cathode side of the unit cell; and an electrically conductive porous bonding layer. A bonding region contains a block portion and an electrical conductivity securing portion. The block portion has a pore having a diameter that is 20% or more than the thickness of the bonding region in the first direction. The block portion extends inward from one of opposite ends in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction of the bonding region, and reaches and contains the pore satisfying the pore requirement. The electrical conductivity securing portion is located toward the other end of the bonding region and has a smaller average diameter of pores than the block portion.

  • Publication number: 20150293187
Abstract: A Q value of the RF irradiation coil is easily obtained in a state in which an object is disposed in an MRI apparatus, and an SAR is predicted with high accuracy. For this, an irradiation coil 14a irradiates an object 1 with a high frequency magnetic field pulse in a state in which the object 1 is disposed in an imaging space, and a transmitted voltage and a reflected voltage of the irradiation coil 14a are detected. A Q value of the irradiation coil in a state of the object 1 being disposed is obtained on the basis of the transmitted voltage and the reflected voltage. A specific absorption rate (SAR) in a case of executing an imaging pulse sequence on the object is predicted by using the Q value.

  • Publication number: 20150150560
Abstract: Provided are a method for strengthening blood vessels with extreme ease and a compression and decompression control system used for performing the method. A compression and decompression control system 1 includes a band adapted to be placed around a particular part of a limb of a user and to apply a compression force to the particular part and a controller for controlling the compression force applied to the particular part with the band. The controller controls the compression force applied with the band in a manner that a compression operation applying a predetermined compression force to the particular part and a decompression operation completely removing the compression force applied to the particular part by the compression operation are alternately repeated. Repetition of the compression operation and the decompression operation allows the vascular endothelial cells of blood vessels of the user to generate a larger amount of nitric oxide, thereby strengthening the blood vessels.

  • Patent number: 8992397
Abstract: To ensure easy and secure placement of a belt for KAATSU muscle training on a target compressed site near the proximal portion of a limb. A belt 100B has a longer first band-shaped member 110 and a shorter second band-shaped member 120 both of which have a band shape and are connected to a ring-shaped joint member 130 at their respective ends. In order to place the belt 100B on the target compressed site, the limb (right leg in this case) on which the belt 100B is expected to be placed is inserted into a loop of the first band-shaped member 110 formed by passing the end of the first band-shaped member 110 through an opening in the joint member 130, and the belt is moved up to the target compressed site. Then, the first band-shaped member 110 and the second band-shaped member 120 are pulled with both hands in the opposite directions. The belt 100B is placed on the target compressed site with the belt 100B being tensioned appropriately.

  • Patent number: 8328693
Abstract: To increase effects of KAATSU training and improve safety thereof. A training system includes a tight fitting device 100 having an inflatable tube which is intended to be wrapped around a compression target range of an arm or a leg, a pressure regulating segment 200 that controls an applied pressure applied by the tight fitting device 100 to the compression target range by means of supplying air into the inflatable tube of the tight fitting device 100 or removing the air from the inflatable tube, a measuring segment 300, and a control segment 400. The measuring segment 300 measures a measurement target value which is one of a heart beat rate, a pulse wave value, and an oxygen saturation value, of a user who is receiving KAATSU training. When the measurement target value measured by the measuring segment 300 indicates that the KAATSU training should not be continued, then the control segment 400 notifies it to the pressure regulating segment 200 and terminates the KAATSU training.
