Abstract: A method of manufacturing a surface emitting laser according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes the following two steps: (1) a step of forming a semiconductor stacked structure on a substrate, the semiconductor stacked structure including an active layer, a first DBR layer of a first electrical conduction type, and a second DBR layer of a second electrical conduction type, the first DBR layer and the second DBR layer sandwiching the active layer, the second electrical conduction type being different from the first electrical conduction type; and (2) a step of forming a mesa section at a portion on the second DBR layer side in the semiconductor stacked structure and then forming an annular diffusion region of the first electrical conduction type at an outer edge of the mesa section by impurity diffusion from a side surface of the mesa section, the mesa section including the second DBR layer, the mesa section not including the active layer.

Abstract: A tray pressing device in a retort sterilizer for cooking foods, movable upward and downward individually, is provided correspondingly to each line of a tray at the uppermost stage of the tray. The tray pressing device comprises a plurality of trays which are in the retort sterilizer, a tray pressing plate which presses and covers the uppermost stage of trays in order to prevent from relieving the foods, a drive source which is installed on the retort sterilizer, and a connecting shaft which is connected the tray pressing place with the drive source. The tray pressing plate can be operated individually from the external section of the retort and be moved downward by its own weight and upward by the drive source installed on the retort through the connecting shaft. The foods are processed under high pressure and high temperature of hot water in the retort sterilizer.

Abstract: An automatic combination weighing machine, having a plurality of weighing units, weighing batches of product or articles by the respective units at the same time and selecting some of the batches exhibiting the total weight meeting a predetermined condition, is provided, wherein each weighing unit is provided with automatic loading and unloading devices and the weighing units are arranged side by side in a line so that the respective loading and unloading paths are parallel to each other, in contrast to the prior machine wherein the weighing units are arranged circularly. This linear type of machine occupies less area than the circular type and can be cleaned easily, and it is more convenient for use in conjunction with soft small product for food, such as meat cutlets and vegetables.
