  • Patent number: 5918333
Abstract: A deodorizing pillow has a core covered by a cover which has pockets formed both on its upper and lower sides. The pockets on one of the sides of the cover can removably contain charcoal or active carbon granule deodorizers, while the pockets on the other side of the cover are filled with chips of Japanese cypress. In an another embodiment, the core of the pillow is composed of an upper and a lower layer, and a deodorizer of active carbon granules or charcoal is tucked between the upper and lower layers.

  • Patent number: 5706535
Abstract: A bedding element having a mat body (1) made of cloth, to provide an excellent deodorizing and hygroscopic effect and a long-lasting refreshing sensation, has several deodorizer-containing pockets (2) provided on one side of the mat body, with deodorizer elements (3) respectively placed securely in each pocket (2).

  • Patent number: 5293411
Abstract: Decreasing the speed of a pump supplying cooling water to the core in the boiling water type nuclear reactor based on a trip signal that is generated when a pump supplying feed water is tripped. This performs a first operation to decrease the nuclear reactor power to a first fixed value. A second operation lowers the nuclear reactor power to a second fixed value that is lower than the first fixed value and that prevents run-out of other first pumps in operation. The first fixed value is lower than the reactor power at the moment when the first pump is tripped. The steam flow is decreased substantially simultaneously with the decrease of the feed water flow. Thereby, the decrease of the steam flow is carried out in an early stage when the feed water pump is tripped and the possibility of nuclear reactor scram is reduced.

  • Patent number: 4533514
Abstract: Control rods are inserted into the core of a nuclear reactor in operation to shut down the reactor output. Before completion of entire control rod insertion, a high-temperature coolant flowing in piping for a reactor water clean-up system is sprayed into the space in the upper portion of the reactor vessel. As the space is under negative pressure, oxygen existing in the water droplets of the sprayed coolant is separated. After completion of entire control rod insertion, a residual heat removal system is operated. The spraying operation is discontinued and a low-temperature coolant cooled by a heat exchanger in the residual heat removal system is sprayed into said space. The coolant sprayed by said first spraying operation is not cooled by the heat exchanger in said residual heat removal system.
