  • Patent number: 5009410
Abstract: A paper feeding system which comprises a paper rest rotatable around a support shaft provided on a main body; a pressure spring for pushing the paper rest to rotate toward a paper feed roller located above the paper rest; a baffle plate for preventing paper from shifting forward, provided on the main body at a position juxtapositioned to the leading end of the paper rest, with a clearance to allow the paper rest to rotate about the support shaft; paper stop ribs projecting from the surface of the baffle plate and running in the direction of the rotation of the paper rest; and notches formed in the leading end with respect to the paper feeding direction of the paper rest, permitting the ribs to interlock in the notches when the paper rest is rotated.

  • Patent number: 4986481
Abstract: An automatic paper feeder for use in a document shredder includes a paper feeding table for receiving a large number of paper sheets to be shredded in a stack, a feeding roller for feeding the paper sheets to be shredded on the paper feeding table, a set of shredding blades, and a driving device for driving the feeding roller for rotation. The rotational peripheral speed of the feeding roller are set larger than the speed of the shredding blades.

  • Patent number: 4855788
Abstract: A copier is equipped with an automatic paper transporting device such that documents which have been processed and removed from a document processing position can be discharged onto a receiving discharge tray in a specified sequence. The discharge sequence is stored as input data and a central processing unit makes reference to these data in controlling the motion of the documents, determining for each document whether it should go directly onto the discharge tray or should be temporarily held on another tray. Similar transporting devices can be used in connection with a copier such that documents can be fed in a specified order which may be different from the way they are stacked or that copy paper sheets processed in a certain sequence may be discharged in a different specified sequence.

  • Patent number: 4842205
Abstract: A shredding machine which comprises a pair of juxtaposed cutting rollers for shredding paper material, a paper feed tray movable between lowered and elevated positions and adapted to support thereon the paper material to be shredded, a feed roller assembly for feeding the paper material from the paper feed tray towards the cutting rollers, a protective cover supported for movement between closed and opened positions and for covering a space above the paper feed tray when in the closed position; and a control for moving the paper feed tray from the elevated position towards the lowered position in response to the movement of the protective cover from the closed position towards the opened position.

  • Patent number: 4815669
Abstract: A shredder including a storage device for placing a number of documents to be shredded, a separate transport device for transporting the documents at least one sheet by one sheet, a transport preventing device for preventing transport of an unsuitable document incapable of being shredded by the shredder, a transport path for transporting the documents to shredding blades, a detection member for detecting the documents, which is provided in the transport path and a control circuit which stops the separate transport device when a signal indicative of absence of the documents has been outputted at a predetermined time by the detection member.

  • Patent number: 4687315
Abstract: An electrophotographic copying machine comprises a device for controlling the temperature of a heating roller which presses a copy paper carrying a toner image thereon together with a fixing roller. The device comprises a switch and an actuator. The actuator comprises a shape memory alloy spring, an ordinary spring, a washer, and a shaft. The shaft is pressed in accordance with the movement of the washer. The washer moves according to the force balance between the shape memory alloy spring and the ordinary spring as the temperature of the heating roller varies.

  • Patent number: 4579908
Abstract: A release agent for removing offset toner particles from the surface of a fixing roller of an electrophotographic copying machine comprises a dimethyl silicone oil, as a principal agent and contains polypropylene in the amount of about 1 weight % or less. The compatibility between the toner particles and the polypropylene is so small that the offset toner particles are easily separated from the silicone oil. The toner particles are preferably made of acrylic-styrene resin epoxy resin, or the like, or mixture thereof.
