  • Patent number: 5807031
Abstract: The invention is designed to improve a cutting performance and a spiral chip discharging ability. Main cutting edges 16 and auxiliary cutting edges 18 are formed along the respective sides of an upper surface 14 of a negative throw-away tip 12 and along side of bevelled corners, respectively. A rake face 22 of each main cutting edge 16 is gradually inclined toward a lower surface of the tip 12 by an angle of inclination .beta. along the extension of the main cutting edge 16 away from its adjacent auxiliary cutting edge 18 and by a rake angle .alpha. (>.beta.) along a direction perpendicular to the main cutting edge 16. The tip 12 is mounted on a cutter 9 as a rotatable cutting tool so as to discharge spiral chips during cutting. To this end, the tip 12 is mounted such that an axial rake angle, a corner angle, an angle of inclination, and a true rake angle are set in a range of -4.degree. to -10.degree., a range of 25.degree. to 60.degree., a range of 0.degree. or larger, and a range of -20.degree. to -5.

  • Patent number: 4898023
Abstract: An apparatus for detecting internal pressure of a can has a reaction detector comprising two sets of fixed members and load cells arranged slightly narrower than the outside diameter of a can body and in a slightly different spaced apart from each other and a buckling detection sensor for detecting a displacement of the center of a cover. The reaction detector and the buckling detection sensor are mounted on a frame adjustable in position according to the kind of cans to be tested. The can is made to pass between two fixed members and load cells while being held by side retaining belts provided along the conveyor while being prevented from rotation. The same part of a can body is forced with different amounts of force and the reaction at that time is measured and converted into internal pressure of the can. The internal pressure of a can is thus measured accurately by this apparatus even if there are deviations in the roundness of the can body.

  • Patent number: 4880041
Abstract: An apparatus for flowing and filling liquified gases, which fuctions to flow and to fill liquified bases into cans from a liquified gas storage tank immediately before seaming of the cans. The apparatus includes a solenoid for attracting an upper portion of a needle of a flow valve formed from a needle valve to open and clode the valve. A pulse motor adjusts an opening-degree of the valve. A valve opening-degree detecting device detects the opening degree. A direction changing nozzle is formed with a nozzle opening obliquely descended in a direction of transporting a can, below the flow valve. A line speed and a balve open amount in a high speed region and a low speed region are respectively set to thereby obtain a line speed/valve opening-degree conversion table, on the basis of which an opening-degree of the valve can be controlled following the line speed.

  • Patent number: 4802874
Abstract: There is disclosed a method of installing a mount assembly in a cathode ray tube wherein convergence characteristics are enhanced by properly setting levels of tube of a color cathode ray tube and of an electron gun. When a neck portion of the tube and a stem structure mounted with the electron gun are sealed to each other by heating, a distance between a standard level of the tube and that of the electron gun is measured. Comparison/arithmetic processing is effected both on the thus measured value and on a previously stored standard distance to seek a difference between the two values. The tube body or the electron gun is controlled by a moving operation so that the difference falls within an allowable value. After this, the sealing process is carried out.

  • Patent number: 4707057
Abstract: An optical switching unit including mechanisms for receiving a beam of light consisting of a plurality of component rays of different wavelengths, separating the light by making use of the reflection characteristic of suitable spectroscopic elements into the component rays to be lead to corresponding light-conductive paths, selecting either the interruption or transmission of the component rays by means of light-shielding plates provided in the respective light-conductive paths, and collecting the components rays to again compose a composite ray of the beam of light to be let out.The respective light-conductive paths are connected in parallel and have their light-separating branched portions arranged in series. In each of the branched portions is disposed a corresponding one of the spectroscopic elements, which corresponding one has its reflection characteristic reflectable of a corresponding component ray and a component ray reflectable by at least a one-stage preceding spectroscopic element.
