In the first warning method, a predicted collision time, which is the predicted amount of time before the moving object will collide with the host vehicle, is calculated based on the approach information, and the driver is warned only when the predicted collision time is less than a threshold value. In the second warning method, the distance between the moving object and the host vehicle is obtained as the approach information, and the driver is warned only when that distance is a value that corresponds to a value within a warning range.
