    Abstract: An ethylene terephthalate type polyester resin for forming containers, having an intrinsic viscosity in a range of 0.65 to 0.85 dL/g, a total content of a monohydroxyethyl terephthalate and a bishydroxyethyl terephthalate of less than 0.005% by weight, (a) a heat of fusion of not more than 50 J/g, a end temperature of melting peak of not higher than 270° C. and a crystallinity of less than 0.48, or (b) an acetaldehyde concentration of 2 to 10 ppm, and satisfying at least either one of (i) a peak time of crystallization is not longer than 360 seconds and the crystallization energy (?H) is not less than 30 J/g in the isothermal crystallization at 210° C., or (ii) components having molecular weights of not larger than 10000 are contained in not less than 8%. The polyester resin effectively prevents the problems such as a fouling of the metal mold in forming containers or a decrease in the productivity. A decreased acetaldehyde concentration provides excellent flavor-retaining property.

    Abstract: A preform having at least a layer of a polyester resin, formed by the compression forming and having a neck ring at the mouth portion, wherein a temperature difference ?Tc at the center of the bottom of the polyester layer or under the neck ring represented by the following formula (1), ?Tc=Tc2?Tc1 ??(1) wherein Tc1 is a temperature-elevating peak crystallization temperature of the polyester layer cut out from the preform as measured by using a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), and Tc2 is a temperature-elevating peak crystallization temperature of the polyester layer measured by quickly cooling it after having measured Tc1 and having melted it, is not larger than 15° C. The preform has a small forming distortion and features excellent dimensional stability at the time of crystallizing the mouth portion. The article formed by draw blow-forming the preform of the invention is without irregularity in the thickness, without scars or wrinkles, and distored little, exhibits excellent appearance.

    Abstract: A polyester resin suitably used for forming preforms by compression forming, the polyester resin having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.70 to 1.00 dL/g and, a molecular weight distribution (Mz/Mn) of not smaller than 3.0, and a diethylene glycol content of not larger than 2.3 mol %. The polyester resin is effectively prevented from depositing on conveyer means of the synthetic resin feeding device, the timing of falling the molten resin mass onto the compression forming mold is not deviated and, besides, the resin can be extruded in an increased amount from the extruder without accompanied by an excess increase in the torque of the extruder. Therefore, the preforms can be formed by compression forming maintaining good productivity. Besides, since the resin has a high degree of fluidity, the preforms that are the formed articles are free of wrinkles, shade or forming distortion, featuring good formability.

When one of the plurality of music pieces is selected by an operation, the control information corresponding to the selected music piece is read out from the memory and is supplied to the external apparatus to thereby start the operation. After that, the recording medium is played with regard to the selected music piece, thereby starting the reproduction of the Karaoke playing sound.
