  • Publication number: 20160195159
Abstract: A mass body that includes two weights that face each other via a support member is provided. Each of the two weights is formed with a recessed portion that is recessed from an outside surface toward an inside surface. An additional weight formed of a material that is higher in specific gravity than the weight is attached to the recessed portion. Consequently, the weight of the mass body can be increased without increasing the radial length or the thickness of the mass body (weights). As a result, the vibration damping effect can be improved while suppressing an increase in size of the device.

  • Publication number: 20160160959
Abstract: A cushioning member between plate bodies of a mass body and at end portions, in the circumferential direction, so as not to rotate relative to the plate bodies. The peripheral edges, on both sides in the width direction, of the outer peripheral surfaces of the cushioning member's first and second side portions abutting against a support member, along with swing of the mass body, are chamfered, reducing the possibility that the cushioning member enters in a clearance between the side surfaces of the support member and the plate bodies when the cushioning members' first side portion and the support member abut, or when the cushioning member's second side portion and the support member abut, along with swing of the mass body, suppressing damage to the cushioning member.

  • Publication number: 20150323041
Abstract: In a starting device including a centrifugal-pendulum vibration absorbing device, while lock-up is released, a flow of working oil directed from a lock-up piston side toward a damper mechanism is produced in a clutch engagement chamber. A thrust force in the axial direction directed from the lock-up piston toward the damper mechanism is applied to a weight, of a mass body of the centrifugal-pendulum vibration absorbing device, disposed on the lock-up piston side. A support member of the centrifugal-pendulum vibration absorbing device is provided with weight support protrusions that project in the axial direction of an input shaft of a speed change device toward the weight disposed on the lock-up piston side.

  • Patent number: 9046161
Abstract: A starting apparatus including an input member coupled to a motor; a damper mechanism having an input element, an elastic body and an output element; a lock-up clutch mechanism for performing lockup where the input member is coupled to an input shaft of a transmission via the damper mechanism and for canceling lockup, and a dynamic damper including an elastic body and a mass body engaged with the elastic body. The mass body of the dynamic damper is an elastic body support member that is supported rotatably around an axis of the starting apparatus and that supports the elastic body of the damper mechanism. With this arrangement, the dynamic damper is easily adjustable while reducing the overall size of the starting apparatus.
