  • Patent number: 6548949
Abstract: The wedge base bulb includes a bulb body having a colored glass bulb and a press-sealed portion. Further, a tubular insulation collar is mounted to cover press-sealed portion. Bulb body is formed in a process in that a molding section of a glass tube including a color-developing compound or a color-developing element is heat-melted under a reducing atmosphere in a predetermined temperature region, placed in a mold and expanded in the mold, and also develops color with colloid generated by the heat-melting. As a result, a wedge base bulb developed a color and chromaticity satisfying a predetermined standard can be provided at a lower cost.

  • Patent number: 6064566
Abstract: To provide a peripheral device and a computer system, each being arranged to allow both of external and internal attachments of the peripheral device to the computer system such that, in case of the external attachment, the peripheral device can be attached to the computer system in a manner compatible with the conventional attachment method and yet it does not require any dedicated attachment device as before. A computer system 100 comprises a container 140 for containing a peripheral device 130 as an internal device, a cable 410 for attaching the peripheral device 130 to the system 100 as an external device, and a connector 434 for connecting the cable 410. Also, the peripheral device 130 has a connector 132 for internal attachment and a connector 310 for external attachment. When the peripheral device 130 is contained in the container 140, it is electrically connected to the system 100 and operates as a part thereof.

  • Patent number: 5281377
Abstract: A foamed polyolefin sheet is formed by extruding a molten polyolefin resin, which contains a blowing agent, into a low-pressure zone through an annular die provided at an end of the extruder to form a foamed tubular body, bringing the foamed tubular body into contact with a peripheral surface of a cylindrical cooling device to cool the foamed tubular body and then slitting the thus-cooled foamed tubular body and then slitting the thus-cooled foamed tubular body in the direction of extrusion to open same. The cylindrical cooling device is divided into an upstream section and at least one other spaced downstream sections. The internal pressure of the foamed tubular body is increased to from about 5.times.10.sup.-4 to 3.times.10.sup.-2 kg/cm.sup.2 (G) between the die and the upstream section of the cylindrical cooling device and also between at least two adjacent sections of the cylindrical cooling device to apply tension to the foamed tubular body at the inner wall and prevent the formation of corrugations.
