  • Publication number: 20230302363
Abstract: In a stadium designation process, a first stadium associated with a first team and a second stadium associated with a second team are designated. In a competitive game process, the first team and the second team are caused to compete against each other in a combined stadium object including a first stadium portion based on the designated first stadium and a second stadium portion based on the designated second stadium, in a virtual space.

  • Publication number: 20230241510
Abstract: A competitive sports game in which a team of a first club that at least one user joins and a team of a second club are caused to compete against each other is executed. Here, at least the first club is associated with a rank that is information regarding a degree of growth of the club. The competitive sports game is executed such that an advantageous effect corresponding to a level of the rank is given to the team of the first club.

  • Publication number: 20230241506
Abstract: When, on the basis of an operation input by a user, due to a predetermined action by an operation character of a first team, the operation character has collided with a teammate character of the first team, the teammate character is moved in a collision direction. When the teammate character having been moved in the collision direction has collided with an opponent character, the opponent character is stopped or moved in a collision direction.

  • Patent number: 11633664
Abstract: A game system includes a mode switching unit switching a play mode between a one-player play mode and a two-player play mode, on the basis of at least one of first operation data from a left controller and second operation data from a right controller, and a control unit controlling a player character and a sub-player character in a virtual space. In the one-player play mode, the control unit switches an operation target between the player character and the sub-player character is set as an operation target, on the basis of the first operation data and the second operation data, and in the two-player play mode, the control unit controls the player character on the basis of the first operation data and controls the sub-player character on the basis of the second operation data.

  • Patent number: 9022864
Abstract: A game environment is presented where the 3-D object is properly transitioned from the player's field of view. For example, the perceived position of the 3-D object in the real 3-D space is measured, and if the distance from the display exceeds a threshold, the system will gradually transition the object out of the player's field of view. As another example, the distance of the object from a virtual camera can be measured in a virtual space and if the distance comes within a threshold value, the system will fade the object from the display. As a further example, the distance of the object from a predefined reference plane in the virtual space can be measured to determine the object's perceived visual distance in the real 3-D space and if the object exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the object will begin fading from the display.

  • Patent number: 8814678
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for gyro-controlled gaming viewpoint with auto-centering. A virtual camera is positioned at a first position while the virtual camera views a first object at a first direction. Once the system moves, the virtual camera moves to a second position based on a measurement by an angular velocity sensor. While the virtual camera moves to the second position, the viewing direction of the virtual camera simultaneously so as to keep the first object positioned in a same position of a viewing direction of the virtual camera. The apparatus and method allow the system to move a virtual camera based on a measurement of a gyroscope while keeping an object of importance in the center of the field-of-view of the virtual camera.

  • Patent number: 8784202
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for controlling a virtual camera. The virtual camera is positioned in a first position and a first direction while an object is in a first state and the virtual camera is moved to a second position and second direction when the object transitions from a first state to a second state. The virtual camera is held in the second position and second direction while the object is in the second state and then moves back to the first position and first direction when the object transitions from the second state back to the first state. While the virtual camera is in the second position and second direction, the lowest part of the object is made more easily viewable.

  • Patent number: 8747231
Abstract: A game involves establishing a Wi-Fi connection for retrieving a template used to create a level for the game. A play test is conducted to determine if the created level of the game can be played. The created game level can be shared with other players and/or submitted as a contest for play and competition judging by other players.

  • Patent number: 8376849
Abstract: An apparatus and method is provided for managing objects on a stereoscopic display. The location of the object on the stereoscopic display is determined and the visual distance of the object from the stereoscopic display is determined. The apparatus and method determines if the visual distance of the object exceeds a threshold value and the appearance of the object is transitioned from (e.g., gradually faded out from) the display if the visual distance exceeds the threshold value. In this manner, the object is properly transitioned on the display so that it does not distract the viewer or appear unnatural.
