  • Patent number: 4873957
Abstract: A throttle valve control apparatus for opening and closing a throttle valve for a vehicular engine by an electronically controlled actuator is provided, for the purpose of enabling the control of the throttle valve upon the disablement of the electronically controlled actuator, with return springs (5), (14), (19) provided for a valve shaft (3) for the throttle valve (2), a first drive gear (7) interconnected to an accelerator pedal (13), and a second drive gear (8) driven by the electronically controlled actuator (17), respectively.

  • Patent number: 4872435
Abstract: In a throttle valve controlling apparatus, there is provided a pair of first and second throttle valves. The first throttle valve is rotated by an electrically controlled actuator, whereas the second throttle valve is rotated by an accelerator pedal. A relative position limiting device is interposed between the electrically controlled actuator and a calculation/controlling unit. This calculation/controlling unit enables the electrically controlled actuator to be controlled by transferring a rotation command signal. When the calculation/controlling unit is brought into malfunction, the relative position limiting device interrupts supply of the rotation command signal from the calculation/controlling unit to the electrically controlled actuator, so that the first throttle valve is forcibly returned to its fully close position by means of a return spring.

  • Patent number: 4481926
Abstract: The fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine includes a fuel injection valve for injecting fuel under pressure into an intake pipe of an engine. A vortex flow meter generates a frequency output signal corresponding to the intake air flow rate for the engine and an injection valve drive means for opening the fuel injection valve for a predetermined period is operated in synchronism with the frequency output signal to effect proper fuel injection. A pressure regulating device is provided for holding substantially at a predetermined level the difference between the pressure of the fuel being fed to the fuel injection valve and the pressure in the intake pipe. An electronic control is provided for controlling the difference pressure in accordance with the running state of the engine.

  • Patent number: 4480484
Abstract: A flow rate detection device is constructed so that electrodes for forming an electric field whose intensity spatially changes along a stream of a dielectric fluid are coaxially arranged, and a current detecting means measures a dielectric polarization current flowing when the dielectric fluid flows between the electrodes which form the electric field. The device can detect even a flow rate having a large change therein, for example, of an intermittently flowing stream, and is suitable as a device for measuring a flow rate of a fuel.

  • Patent number: 4457281
Abstract: An electronic fuel supply device for an automotive engine has a vortex flow sensor for sensing the flow of suction air into the engine, an electromagnetic valve which driven for a predetermined time in synchronism with the frequency output from the vortex flow sensor so as to permit the passage of fuel therethrough, and a control valve for limiting the flow of fuel through the electro-magnetic valve. The fuel is metered by the electro-magnetic valve and the control valve, and the fuel may thus be supplied in metered amounts to the fuel injection valves in the respective cylinders for injection into the engine.
