  • Patent number: 7050198
Abstract: A communication terminal capable of sending e-mail is described in which a complete e-mail address of an e-mail recipient is specified by combining one or more e-mail address parts with two or more e-mail address parts designated by making a selection from a display of partial e-mail addresses.

  • Publication number: 20020007458
Abstract: An object of the invention is to prevent unnecessary fetching of data stored in a server while preventing the occurrence of a situation in which no mail can be received at a necessary time in a communication apparatus for fetching the data stored in the server. In this communication apparatus, a time table number corresponding to a day of the week counted by a timer is obtained from a day of the week designated day storage section. An automatic calling time closest to and later than the present time is obtained from a calling time storage section and is set to a designated time based on this obtained time table number and the present time counted by the timer. Further, when the setting of designated time coincides with the present time counted by the timer, mail data destinated to own station stored in the server of an ISP is obtained by calling an access point of the ISP.

  • Publication number: 20020001378
Abstract: The invention provides a communication apparatus capable of practically using a line selecting function such as an LCR function, in a system in which a plurality of communication apparatuses including the communication apparatus are connected in parallel to each other on one line. Therefore, a facsimile apparatus and a telephone set are connected in parallel to each other on the same line. When the facsimile apparatus detects a dial signal sent by the telephone set, the facsimile apparatus converts the detected dial signal to another dial signal by referring to an LCR table stored to a RAM. The facsimile apparatus sends the converted dial signal to a switching apparatus over a line, and establishes a least expensive communication line among public communication lines.

  • Publication number: 20010028469
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to solve the difficulty of entering e-mail addresses. To enter an e-mail address, the e-mail address is formed by entering a partial e-mail address with an input section and selecting a desired partial e-mail address with a selection section from a plurality of partial e-mail addresses stored in a storage section while observing a display section. Consequently, it is not necessary to enter the entire e-mail address by handwith the input section, so that this troublesome task can be eliminated.

  • Publication number: 20010014149
Abstract: An object of the invention is to make operating a center from a neutral standpoint pay financially in a communication system that enables communications to be initiated by selecting the lowest cost communication line from among a plurality of communication lines. When communication apparatus B accesses center apparatus A by making a call to the center and transmits a filled out application form as an image signal, the center apparatus A prepares an optimum least cost routing table based on the calling party information received at the time of the call arrival and on the information read from the application form restored from the image signal, and transmits the thus prepared least cost routing table to the communication apparatus B.
