  • Patent number: 5435609
Abstract: An improved anti-theft device for use with a vehicle door locking mechanism, the latter having a sill knob rod rotatably connected to a locking lever so that actuating the sill knob rod moves the locking lever to either lock or unlock the locking device, includes a housing to cover and protect the locking mechanism. The tube is joined to the housing and surrounds the sill knob rod engaged to the locking lever. The periphery of the sill knob rod is spaced away from the inner wall of the tube over the full length of the sill knob rod enclosed within the tube.

  • Patent number: 4934748
Abstract: A door lock apparatus includes a casing having a lock mechanism disposed therein, an actuating mechanism disposed on the casing to actuate the lock mechanism, and a protective member covering the actuating mechanism. The apparatus is provided with pins for retaining the actuating mechanism on the casing, and engagement portions are provided on the pins and the casing, respectively. The protective member is provided with retaining portions which are engageable with the engagement portions, respectively, so that the engagement portions and the retaining portions are fitted with each other to rigidly secure the protective member to the casing. Accordingly it is possible to mount the protective member firmly and easily. Since the protective member can be molded from a resin material, it is possible to lower the production cost and reduce the overall weight of the product. In addition, since there is no need for special means such as rivets, it is possible to mount the protective member at a reduced cost.

  • Patent number: 4902058
Abstract: A door lock has an open lever linked with an open rod and pivotally mounted on a base plate and a locking lever linked with a locking link and pivotally mounted on a sub plate, the open lever and the locking lever being linked with each other through a locking rod so that a door is selectively locked and unlocked by the pivotal motion of the open lever which is caused by the pivotal motion of the locking lever. The door lock further has a protective wall in the shape of an upright wall which is formed integral with the side surface of the open lever which faces the locking lever. Since the protective wall which is formed integral with the open lever functions as a protective means, it is possible to reduce the number of parts and the number of man-hours needed for the assembling operation and further use the door lock in common to all types of vehicle.
