  • Patent number: 8387013
Abstract: A system resource manager of a site management server registers a server domain as a group of servers having a uniform physical wire connection. A software RM of the site management server and a software sub RM of a domain management server install, in cooperation with each other, a software used by a server that belongs to a registered server domain in a storage connected via a SAN, and causes the server to use installed software.

  • Patent number: 8341705
Abstract: Administrative right information corresponding to a domain and a service group, domain information, and service group information are stored in a system resource DB. When an administrator makes a request for operating a resource using an operation management client, an authority determining unit of a system resource manager makes a determination whether the administrator has an administrative right for a domain or a service group to which the requested resource belongs using the information stored in the system resource DB, and permits or denies the operation based on a result of determination.

  • Patent number: 8015275
Abstract: A resource coordinator manager automatically sets a LAN and a SAN for a server to be add according to an increase in load. An ASCC satellite executes a boot script to boot up a user application on the server. The ASCC satellite executes a stop script to stop a user application executed on a server to be returned to a server pool according to a decrease in load. The resource coordinator manager automatically releases a LAN and a SAN set for the server to be returned.

  • Patent number: 7971089
Abstract: When a server RM detects a failure in an operating server, a system resource manager selects a substitute server from a pool of a server domain to which a failed server belongs, based on information in a system resource DB, disconnects the failed server from a business network and a storage sub group and moves the failed server to a pool, and permits the substitute server to access a storage group to which the failed server had an access and to connect to the business network to which the failed server was connected, to boot up the substitute server from a SAN.

  • Patent number: 7953835
Abstract: Blade enclosures are connected to storage devices through FC switches, and management blades and FC switches are connected to a SAN management device. Automatic setting modular program displays an input screen on a display. A manager inputs IP addresses of FC switches so as to be associated with IP address of management blade into input screen. The automatic-setting modular program acquires the server blade information from the management blades, turns on the powers of the server blades, and acquires the FC switch information from the FC switches. The program associates the slot numbers contained in the server blade information acquired from the management blades to the port numbers contained in the FC switch information acquired from the FC switches in one-to-one relationships. The program generates records that are combinations of the server blade information and the FC switch information, and stores the generated records in connection definition table.

  • Patent number: 7716373
Abstract: Current configuration information of an information processing apparatus, post configuration information after updating a software, configuration information of a network device are stored in a database. A selection of a software image for updating the software of the information processing apparatus and a change of a configuration of the network device are considered, based on the pieces of configuration information. An automation of an operation of updating the software is realized by sending a result of consideration to an agent deployed in the information processing apparatus and causing the information processing apparatus to perform a desired processing.

  • Publication number: 20090327799
Abstract: A management server is equipped with a manager comprising software including a server management program. A managed server has a built-in system disk capable of being booted, on which an agent is installed that is software for communicating with the manager of the management server to monitor the state of the managed server. When a part other than the disk is failed, the system disk is removed from the managed server and attached to a preliminary server. The manager updated the content in a server management table for managing the information of the managed server, thereby eliminating mismatches of network addresses and the like.

  • Publication number: 20070237162
Abstract: A software RM and a network RM read out information from a system resource DB, and perform a software install or a network setting corresponding to a server group to which a server is to be added on a server in a pool based on read information. When a server included in the server group is failed or when a load on the server group increases, the software RM and the network RM adds the server on which the software install or the network setting is performed to the server group.

  • Patent number: 6591414
Abstract: A binary program conversion apparatus capable of converting an original binary program into a new binary program which runs at higher speed in a target computer having a cache memory. The binary program conversion apparatus comprises an executing part, a generating part and a producing part. The executing part executes the original binary program. The generating part generates executed blocks information indicating first instruction blocks which are executed by the executing part. The producing part produces, based on the executed blocks information generated by the generating part, the new binary program which contains second instruction blocks corresponding to the plural of the first instruction blocks and which causes, when being executed in the computer, the computer to store second instruction blocks corresponding to the first instruction blocks executed by the executing part at different locations of the cache memory.
