  • Publication number: 20120303218
Abstract: An electric steering device is provided which enables a stable steering correction operation expected by a driver. An electric power steering device having a motor, which is controlled by a control device based on steering torque and generates steering assist force, further includes operation switches which are provided at a steering wheel and which output electric signals based on an operation given by a driver, and an additional current computing unit that calculates and outputs an additional current value waveform for adding a current for driving the motor in accordance with the electric signals from the operation switches. The additional current computing unit generates and outputs the current waveform of a predetermined additional current value in accordance with the driving condition information on a vehicle in response to an operation to the operation switch regardless of the time length of the ON state of the operation switches.

  • Publication number: 20110282550
Abstract: A steering apparatus for a vehicle is provided in which since a steering wheel (12) is provided with a switch (20L, 20R) that outputs an electrical signal in response to an operation by a driver's finger, and a vehicle wheel (W) is turned by operating a steering actuator (17) according to an electrical signal outputted by the switch (20L, 20R), a turning angle of the vehicle wheel (W) can be freely increased and decreased matching the driver's intention merely by operating the switch (20L, 20R) without changing the hold on the steering wheel (12) in a state in which the steering wheel (12) is operated and the vehicle wheel (W) is turned. Moreover, since the switch (20L, 20R) is housed in a recess (12b) formed on a surface of a rim portion (12a) of the steering wheel (12) without projecting from the surface thereof, it is possible to reliably prevent the switch (20L, 20R) from being erroneously operated against a driver's intention during operation of the steering wheel (12).

  • Patent number: 7552794
Abstract: An input device 30A of an electric steering device 1 includes a pair of steering wheels 31A, 31B. When both the steering wheels 31A, 31B or one of the steering wheels 31A, 31B. is operated being rotated, front wheels 9 can be steered. Further, when both the steering wheels 31A, 31B or one of the steering wheels 31A, 31B is slid in the longitudinal direction of a vehicle, the front wheels 9 can be steered.

  • Patent number: 6116371
Abstract: A cable steering device is provided such that it can be easily and reliably confirmed whether an inner cable of a Bowden cable is precisely wound around a pulley housed in a housing. Two inner cables are wound around a helical groove defined in an outer peripheral surface of a driven pulley connected to a steering wheel through a driven shaft. An opening is defined in a driven pulley housing enclosing the driven pulley, so that when the steering wheel is assembled to the driven shaft by a spline, it can be confirmed from the outside that the two inner cables have been wound precisely in two turns around the driven pulley.

  • Patent number: 5924727
Abstract: The inflator assembly comprises a cylindrical housing main body which is made by extrusion so that it is possible to achieve a desired cross section which optimizes the progress of combustion of the propellant while minimizing the size of the housing. In particular, by using a member clad or mounted with brazing material for an internal component of the assembly, such as the ignition pipe, a leg section for supporting the ignition pipe inside the housing, a wall section for defining a separate combustion chamber, at least one of the end plates for closing the axial ends of the housing main body, and a perforated plate member serving as the perforated section, it is possible to simplify the manufacturing process, and thereby reduce the manufacturing cost.

  • Patent number: 5251930
Abstract: A suspension system on a motor vehicle includes a transverse leaf spring interconnecting knuckles on which road wheels are rotatably supported. The suspension system includes a pair of knuckle members on which the road wheels are rotatably mounted, an elongate leaf spring which is vertically resilient and extends transversely with respect to the vehicle body, the leaf spring having opposite ends coupled to the knuckle members, respectively, a support member supporting the leaf spring at two supporting points thereon which are spaced from each other transversely with respect to the vehicle body, for allowing the leaf spring to move transversely but limiting the leaf spring against vertical movement with respect to the vehicle body, and a transverse movement limiting mechanism for allowing the leaf spring to move vertically but limiting the leaf spring against transverse movement with respect to the vehicle body.
